Courtney Love Refers to Kurt Cobain and Lana Del Rey as True Music Geniuses

If you ask Courtney Love, Kurt and Lana, top her list of musical greats.

The singer/songwriter named her deceased husband Kurt Cobain and artist Lana Del Rey as the lone two actual musical geniuses she’s ever met personally in an interview on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast.

“They can Spielberg anything,” the Hole lead singer said in an interview with Maron. “[R.E.M.’s Michael] Stipe? Bono? Yes, these are people that I know and love. Billie Joe [Armstrong], sure. But Lana? She’s got a magic thing. And she’s not even f—ed up!”

On her “Endless Summer” tour in 2015, Love made six stops with Del Rey and told Maron that Del Rey is a “real, true, fantastic friend.”

“She’s got the integrity Kurt had,” Love stated. “The only two people I know that I can say [that about].”

Love contrasted Nirvana’s versions of “Plateau,” “Oh, Me,” and “Lake of Fire”—three Meat Puppets songs—that the band played during the band’s MTV Unplugged special in 1993—to Del Rey’s feminized rendition of Allen Ginsberg’s “Howl.”

Additionally, she revealed to Maron that she introduced singer/songwriter Joni Mitchell to Del Rey while they were passing the time in Portland and that meeting Mitchell impacted Del Rey’s “f—-ing whole thing.”

“My boomer rock critic friends are calling after Norman Rockwell, ‘Hey your friend, she’s pretty good,'” Love recalled. “And I said to her, ‘Welcome to the Thunderdome, Ms. Del Rey.'”

Love and Maron also discussed Love’s debut studio album after Hole’s 2010 Nobody’s Daughter. The song’s title, “Kill F—- Marry,” was presumably based on the Johnny Depp and Amber Heard defamation case.

Cobain, the lead singer of Nirvana and the epitome of the grunge alt-rock movement of the 1990s, committed suicide on April 5, 1994, when he was 27 years old.

Who is Kurt Cobain?

Kurt Donald Cobain, an American musician, was the lead singer, guitarist, and chief songwriter for the rock group Nirvana from February 20, 1967, until around April 5, 1994.

The subject boundaries of popular rock music were extended by Kurt Cobain’s angst-filled songs and anti-establishment image. He was hailed as the voice of Generation X and is regarded as one of the most essential artists in the development of alternative rock.

With Krist Novoselic and Aaron Burckhard, Cobain founded Nirvana in 1987, establishing it as a component of the grunge movement that originated in Seattle.

Nirvana achieved international popularity with “Smells Like Teen Spirit” off their critically praised second album, Nevermind after signing with major label DGC Records (1991).

Following Nirvana’s unexpected success, Cobain was lauded as the voice of his generation, but he disliked this, feeling that the general public had misunderstood his message and artistic vision.

Other songs that Cobain composed for Nirvana besides “Smells Like Teen Spirit” include “Come as You Are,” “Lithium,” “In Bloom,” “Something in the Way,” “Heart-Shaped Box,” “All Apologies,” “About a Girl,” “Aneurysm,” and “You Know You’re Right.”

Issues

Cobain had chronic health issues like depression and heroin addiction in the final years of his life. He also battled the rigors of fame on a personal and professional level and had a rocky marriage to fellow artist Courtney Love.

Later, Cobain underwent an intervention and entered a detoxification program after overdosing on champagne and Rohypnol in March 1994.

The singer was discovered dead at his Seattle residence on April 8, 1994, at the age of 27. Police later determined he had passed away on April 5 from a self-inflicted shotgun wound to the head.

Along with comrades Krist Novoselic and Dave Grohl from Nirvana, Cobain was posthumously inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in 2014, their first year of eligibility.

By Rolling Stone, Cobain was listed among the 100 Greatest Songwriters, 100 Greatest Guitarists, and 100 Greatest Singers of All Time.

In its list of the “22 Greatest Voices in Music,” MTV rated him seventh. On Hit Parader’s list of the “100 Greatest Metal Singers of All Time” from 2006, he was ranked 20th.

A ‘Solo’ Sequel May Come After Some Time But Definitely Not Now

As a franchise, Solo remains an orphan.

Fan hopes for a sequel to Han Solo’s origin story were recently dashed by Ron Howard, director of the 2018 film Solo: A Star Wars Story.

“The only discussion that I’m aware of about a sequel for Solo is coming from the fans at this point,” Howard told NME. “I don’t think it’s a Lucasfilm priority, as I understand it.”

A chilling bantha milkshake for fans anticipating a sequel to Han Solo’s origin story recently arrived from 2018 Solo’s director, Ron Howard.

While praising Glover’s performance, EW’s review of the movie at the time called it “a wafer-thin palate cleanser before the next big course,” calling it a competent placeholder.

Following Solo’s release, there was speculation about a possible Lando spin-off in response to comments from Lucasfilm CEO Kathleen Kennedy, but the studio later revived it.

Glover admitted in 2018 that he might be open to going out solo, though not necessarily.

“It would always be fun to be Lando again,” Glover stated during a Solo: A Star Wars Story Town Hall.

“The movie, I feel like, is wide open. This part of the universe without the – I feel like, with the Skywalkers, it’s hard because it’s almost like the Bible. There’s a story that you have to tell and the lineage of that family. I feel like out here it’s like, yeah, we’re just like husters and gamblers and space pirates, essentially, so you can do a lot more and have a lot more fun.”

Box Office Struggle

Solo did poorly at the box office, making just $36 million in its opening weekend, a far cry from the $130-$150 million expected.

On the other hand, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story made $155 million on its opening weekend in 2016. Overall sales of Solo reached $393.2 million.

Howard continues to hold out hope.

“The folks from Lucasfilm love the fans and really do listen, so I would never say never. But I’m not aware of any concrete plans right now to extend the story or deal with that particular set of characters,” Howard said in an interview with NME.

The second season of Disney+’s critically acclaimed Rogue One prequel series Andor is already in the works.

A Lucasfilm representative didn’t respond to EW’s request for comment immediately.

Disney+ Original Series

With the company’s greatest works streaming and the vault open, Disney+ has original programming for every generation and genre.

Before taking off for a far-off galaxy in the Star Wars universe, explore the Marvel Multiverse.

View the company’s creative process from a behind-the-scenes perspective or follow the Beatles as they prepare to record their final studio album.

Disney+ is a streaming service that the whole family can enjoy together, provided you can come to an agreement on what to watch. It offers a repertoire full of shows and franchises that are sure to bring back memories.

The Mandalorian

Even though shows like Obi-Wan Kenobi and The Book of Boba Fett debuted more recently, The Mandalorian is still by far Disney’s best live-action Star Wars program.

The series blends cowboy films, samurai tales, and episodic sci-fi serials, and it simultaneously feels like a logical continuation of George Lucas’ early work and something entirely new.

The Mandolorian, which takes place five years after Return of the Jedi, centers on an enigmatic bounty hunter (Pedro Pascal). He encounters both new and recognizable characters along the way, such as Kuiil (Nick Nolte), Greef Karga (Carl Weathers), and Moff Gideon (Giancarlo Esposito).

Ms. Marvel

Ms. Marvel is a teenage coming-of-age comedy first and a superhero tale second, similar to Shazam and Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The show centers on Captain Marvel superfan Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), who discovers that her newfound abilities do not automatically fix the issues she encounters at her close-knit Pakistani-American family and Jersey City high school.

Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah directed Ms. Marvel’s pilot, the most inventive episode of Marvel TV to date before their Batgirl film was abruptly canceled.

The first episode of the series has a lot more visual flourishes than we’re used to seeing in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it shares an aesthetic with Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.

Colorful animated sketches and text messages that seamlessly blend into the background of numerous scenes represent Kamala’s thoughts.

Star Wars: Visions

For good reason, animated anthology series are popular on streaming services (hello, Love, Death & Robots), as they enable a variety of artists to express their boundless creativity in brief bursts that wouldn’t fit on traditional television or in movie theaters.

Seven Japanese animation studios were hired by Lucasfilm to create whatever short stories they desired in a galaxy far, far away for Star Wars: Visions

Henry Golding, Lucy Liu, David Harbour, and Joseph Gordon-Levitt are just a few of the voice actors who appear in each episode, each with their own distinct visual aesthetic.

Big Shot

Volatile coach Marvyn Korn (John Stamos) reluctantly accepts the only option he has left: inspiring and molding the struggling team at a private girls’ high school in San Diego after a gametime outburst costs him his career in NCAA men’s basketball.

Korn encounters difficulties with the school’s teachers, parents, administrators (including a terrific Yvette Nicole Brown), and even his own daughter in his quest to regain control of the basketball world.

The show’s creators are Brad Garrett, Dean Lorey, and David E. Kelley (Big Little Lies) (star of Everybody Loves Raymond).

The Beatles: Get Back

The most popular band in the world breaking up at the height of their fame is depicted in Peter Jackson’s breathtaking three-part documentary.

The Beatles returned in 1969 to their roots by setting a record the old-fashioned way: four people sitting in a room together, writing music and forcing new songs into existence. This follows a run of painstakingly crafted albums and an extended tour break.

The band is an underdog put in a difficult situation since they only have a few short weeks to develop, record, and play a new album in time for a televised concert special, despite their overwhelming accolades and unrivaled commercial success.

With their efforts, they produced the album Let It Be and a now-famous rooftop performance, but as Get Back demonstrates, even the most accomplished artists’ struggle to create high art doesn’t come easy, even for the greatest band in the world.

Hawkeye

To bring down a New York crime syndicate during the Christmas season, Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner), a frequently overlooked original Avenger of Marvel, joins forces with eager young archer Kate Bishop (Hailee Steinfeld).

This one is one of Disney’s few superheroes flicks that viewers can enjoy even if they are unfamiliar with the constantly expanding Marvel lore.

Hawkeye stands out because it intentionally focuses on new cast members like Bishop and villain Maya Lopez (Alaqua Cox), the latter of whom will be the star of a spin-off show in 2023.

Although it has links to Black Widow and a particular Netflix series (spoilers at the link), Hawkeye continues to stand on its own.

Muppets Now

With the latest format, which caters to children who might recommend YouTube over traditional broadcast, The Muppets enter the digital era.

The six-episode series modernizes the original Muppet Show’s variety show format for today’s audiences.

Each episode consists of a number of fragmented, independent portions that portray each Muppet as the star of their own YouTube series, as opposed to straightforward sketches and performances.

The series features an impressive cast of human celebrity guests, including Roy Choi, Seth Rogen, Linda Cardellini, Danny Trejo, and Aubrey Plaza, in keeping with long-standing Muppet tradition.

Prop Culture

Dan Lanigan, the host of this endearing, nostalgic docuseries, examines legendary Disney films through a distinctive lens: locating iconic props and reunifying people with the films’ creators.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit, The Nightmare Before Christmas, and Mary Poppins-themed episodes, as well as other Disney classics, Lanigan passionately demonstrates the extraordinary power of tactile cinematographic objects. It constitutes once-disposable items that have acquired more historical, cultural, and interpersonal value than their creators ever imagined.

Christopher Lloyd, Danny Elfman, Jason Schwartzman, and even the elusive Rick Moranis are among the guests.

Image commercially licensed from DepositPhotos

Prince Harry seems to be making headlines with his recent book tour and TV appearances. His memoir, entitled “Spare,” has garnered attention for being candid about his experiences in the royal family and his relationship with his younger brother, Prince William.

In his lone American television appearance on 60 Minutes, Harry spoke with Anderson Cooper about a variety of subjects, including the physical altercation with his brother and the arduous process of coming to terms with the death of his mother Princess Diana, which reportedly involved the use of psychedelic drugs.

“For a long time, I just refused to accept that she was— she was gone,” the prince stated. “Part of, you know, she would never do this to us, but also part of, maybe this is all part of a plan.”

While many have praised Harry for being honest and open about his experiences, others have criticized him for potentially causing further tension within the royal family.

Regardless of the reaction, it’s clear that Harry’s book tour and television appearances have generated considerable interest and discussion.

In his brand-new memoir, “Spare,” Prince Harry has been candid about his struggles to deal with the death of his mother, Princess Diana. “

In an interview with Anderson Cooper of 60 Minutes, Harry revealed that he had a hard time believing his mother was really gone, and that at first he thought his mother had disappeared on purpose.

To cope with his grief, Harry sought the help of a therapist and also turned to experimental treatments including psychedelics such as ayahuasca, psilocybin and mushrooms.

The Prince Response

Harry emphasized that he does not suggest using these substances for recreational purposes, instead recommending them as a form of treatment for people who are experiencing grief, loss, or trauma.

He explained that the psychedelics helped him “clear the windshield, the misery of loss.” Harry’s candid discussion of his use of psychedelics has sparked debate and raised awareness about their potential use in treating mental health issues.

Prince Harry’s new memoir “Spare” has been making headlines for its candid discussions about his experiences within the Royal Family.

In an interview with Cooper, Harry revealed that when he found happiness with his future wife Meghan Markle, his father Prince Charles initially took a liking to her but his brother Prince William was skeptical.

Their Relationship

“It was a buildup of frustration, I think, on his part. It was at a time where he was being told certain things by people within his office,” Harry stated.

“And at the same time, he was consuming a lot of the tabloid press, a lot of the stories. And he had a few issues, which were based not on reality. And I was defending my wife. And he was coming for my wife. She wasn’t there at the time, but through the things that he was saying.

“I was defending myself. And we moved from one room into the kitchen. And his frustrations were growing, and growing, and growing. He was shouting at me. I was shouting back at him. It wasn’t nice. It wasn’t pleasant at all. And he snapped. And he pushed me to the floor.”

Harry also spoke about a physical altercation between him and William, which he described as a result of William’s growing frustration and the influence of negative press.

Harry’s memoir and recent interviews have reportedly strained relations between the two brothers. Despite this, Harry has continued to be open and candid about his experiences and has faced both praise and criticism for doing so.

Series

The new Netflix series Harry & Meghan offers a unique perspective on the tumultuous years that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex have shared together.

The series covers their unlikely transatlantic romance, their glamorous wedding, and their controversial departure from the Royal Family. It also explores the modern history of royal media coverage and the long history of British imperial dominance.

Entertainment Weekly’s TV Critics Kristen Baldwin and Darren Franich have different perspectives on the series. Baldwin is a fan of the Royal Family, while Franich is more critical of the monarchy.

As they discuss the first three episodes of Harry & Meghan, they highlight the highs and lows of this unique self-documentary by the Royal couple. The next three episodes of the series are set to be released on Thursday.

Baldwin Opinion

Baldwin expressed her stand on the series.

First off, it’s important to note that the critic is a fan of Harry and Meghan and has supported their decision to “step back” from their royal duties.

She references the media’s investment in the couple’s existence and notes that they have chosen to turn themselves into a brand, Archewell Inc. It is not clear what the specific focus or content of the Netflix series is, but it seems to offer a personal perspective on the couple’s experiences.

Franich Point-of-View

It’s understandable to have mixed feelings about the decision made by Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to step away as senior members of the British Royal Family and pursue financial independence.

On the one hand, it can be seen as a brave and self-aware move to prioritize their well-being and that of their family.

But it’s true that their decision has led to them becoming more closely associated with the “oligarchy” of celebrities and the entertainment industry, which may be seen as a departure from their previous roles as members of the royal family.

Ultimately, whether or not one views their decision as a positive or negative development is a matter of personal perspective.

It’s important to remember that the decision was likely not taken lightly, and that everyone has the right to make choices that are best for their own happiness and well-being.

Cohen and Seacrest Address New Year’s Eve Waving Incident

mage commercially licensed from DepositPhotos

Andy Cohen and Ryan Seacrest have been rivals for years, with both men hosting popular New Year’s Eve specials on different networks. This year, the rivalry heated up when Seacrest accused Cohen of not waving to him during a broadcast.

According to Seacrest, Cohen ignored him while filming the show on New Year’s Eve. But Cohen’s story is different.

Cohen defended himself by saying that he simply “didn’t see him” on Wednesday’s episode of Radio Andy. He then asked his CNN co-anchor Anderson Cooper to support him. Cooper affirmed that Cohen was indeed preoccupied during the broadcast and, despite his best efforts, was unable to wave at Seacrest.

“[Seacrest] said on the show that you very politely turned around and waved to him and mouthed to him, ‘Have a good show,'” Cohen shared with Cooper on the show. “And that I didn’t turn around.”

Cooper, who waved to Seacrest, said it was because he “just happened to turn around” at the right moment to see him.

“There were a couple times I looked to see if he was around, and I hadn’t seen him,” he stated. “And then there was one time I just turned, and he was there over by where they, you know, do that hourly-like countdown.”

Despite the drama, the burgeoning controversy was nothing short of a hoot. Cohen and Seacrest have a history of friendly rivalry, and have even appeared on each other’s shows.

It’s clear that the two men have a lot of respect for each other, even if they do sometimes playfully poke fun at each other.

In the end, the dispute has been put to rest and Cohen, and Seacrest can go back to focusing on their successful careers and exciting New Year’s Eve specials.

Knowingly

Seacrest, which hosts Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve on ABC, has a stage right next to CNN’s New Year’s Live in Times Square, where Cohen’s attention goes when he’s not at work. tried to pull

However, Cohen insists that he missed the interaction because he was “dealing with the show.”

His CNN co-anchor Anderson Cooper backed him up, saying that the moment passed by quickly and it wasn’t a big deal. Cooper added that he assumed Cohen had already waved to Seacrest earlier, and he was catching up.

Despite the controversy, the waving incident was a misunderstanding.

Both Cohen and Seacrest have a history of friendly competition and have even appeared on each other’s shows. It’s clear that the two men have a lot of respect for each other, even if they do sometimes playfully poke fun at each other.

Not the Only Time

Seacrest’s co-host Kelly Ripa has clarified that Cohen was “trying to get your attention,” but the two just didn’t link up during their respective holiday broadcasts on New Year’s Eve.

Seacrest, who hosts Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve on ABC, joked about the incident on Live with Kelly and Ryan, saying that he was trying to get Cohen and Anderson Cooper’s attention by waving and saying, “It’s me! Guys, it’s me! Put me in your shot! Put me in your background!”

This isn’t the first time that Seacrest and Cohen have had a New Year’s Eve squabble. Back in 2021, a drunken Cohen famously slammed Seacrest and ABC’s broadcast during New Year’s Live, for which he later apologized.

Seacrest seemingly referenced this incident in an interview with EW last month, saying that he doesn’t “advocate drinking when one is on the air.”

“I don’t know how that started as a tradition, but it’s probably a good idea [to scale back], CNN,” he stated. “There’s some pretty respectable people or at least one, right? I think there’s a serious journalist and then a friend of mine who has a lot of fun, but it’s probably a good idea.”

Seacrest Shows

Seacrest is a well-known television and radio host, as well as a producer and entrepreneur.

He is perhaps best known for hosting American Idol, a singing competition show that aired on Fox for 15 seasons. Seacrest has also hosted various other television shows, such as E! News, Live with Kelly and Ryan, and On Air with Ryan Seacrest.

On New Year’s Eve, Seacrest will be hosting “Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest,” an annual televised special that counts down to the new year.

The special will feature performances by various musicians, and this year it will also be celebrating the 100th anniversary at The Walt Disney Company with a special segment hosted by Ciara in Disneyland.

Other hosts for the special include Billy Porter, who will be hosting the Central Standard Time countdown from New Orleans, and Roselyn Sanchez, who will host the Spanish language countdown from Puerto Rico.

D-Nice will also be hosting an L.A. party with performances from several artists.

Count Down

Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve With Ryan Seacrest is a popular annual television special that counts down to the new year. The show has been airing since 1972, and it has continued to grow and evolve over the years.

In addition to the traditional ball drop in New York’s Times Square, the show now also includes ball drops in other locations around the country, such as Anaheim, California, and New Orleans.

This year’s show will feature a variety of hosts and performers, including Ryan Seacrest, who will be hosting from Times Square, Ciara, who will be hosting from Disneyland, and Billy Porter, who will be hosting the Central Standard Time countdown from New Orleans.

The show will also feature performances by artists such as Duran Duran, New Edition, J-hope, Jax, Fitz and the Tantrums, Maddie & Tae, Shaggy, Ben Platt, Aly & AJ, Halle Bailey, Tomorrow x Together, Bailey Zimmerman, and Lauren Spencer Smith.

The show will be a long one, lasting for over five hours, and it is sure to be an exciting celebration of the new year.

‘Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery’ Break Down by Cast and Director

Although it lasted only a week, writer-director Rian Johnson won the battle for wide theatrical distribution of Netflix’s Glass Onion: Knives Out Mystery. Nevertheless, he lost another one directly related to it.

It turns out that Johnson prefers the title “Glass Onion” over the subtitle for his mystery-thriller starring Daniel Craig.

“I’ve tried hard to make them self-contained,” Johnson told The Atlantic, pointing to Glass Onion and its forerunner, Knives Out, which was released in 2019.

“Honestly, I’m pissed off that we have A Knives Out Mystery in the title. You know? I want it to just be called Glass Onion. I get it, and I want everyone who liked the first movie to know this is next in the series, but also, the whole appeal to me is it’s a new novel off the shelf every time. But there’s a gravity of a thousand suns toward serialized storytelling.”

Installment

Johnson also talks about the 2017 Star Wars movie, The Last Jedi, and how difficult it is to wrap up a movie that’s part of a larger story.

“Look, in terms of the Star Wars movie I did, I tried to give it a hell of an ending,” he says.

“I love endings so much that even doing the middle chapter of the trilogy. I tried to give it an ending. A good ending that recontextualizes everything that came before it and makes it a beautiful object unto itself — that’s what makes a movie a movie.

“It feels like there’s less and less of that. This whole poisonous idea of creating [intellectual property] has completely seeped into the bedrock of storytelling. Everyone is just thinking, How do we keep milking it? I love an ending where you burn the Viking boat into the sea.”

Movie Breakdown

The cast and creator of Glass Onion: Knives Out Mysteries have a lot of mysteries, but this is a lucky one. Because a great crime thriller needs a mystery.

Though they are, of course, well-trained to remain silent on the film’s key plot details, we try to get the majority of the actors and writer/director Rian Johnson to discuss all those in an EW Around the Table.

Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, the sequel to 2019’s Knives Out, sees a group of old friends with unresolved grudges visit Miles Bronn’s (Edward Norton) private island for a weekend of murder mystery games.

It was intentional that some of the synopsis descriptions were taken directly from the news. Johnson has frequently singled out the writings of Agatha Christie as an influence on his growing series.

“So much of our perception of her is that it’s period pieces, and it’s through this hazy, gauzy nostalgia of the past,” the Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery creator said.

“But she was writing to exactly her time and place.

“So, when we have characters who are influencers, who are Instagram models, who are beleaguered assistants, who are rockstar scientists, who are fashionistas, who are politicians pissing everybody off on both sides of the aisle, who are tech billionaires — all of these are the people that Agatha Christie would be writing about right now.”

Glass Onion Cast Discussion

The entire cast was open and honest with EW about the people they looked up to for character inspiration, including influential people from Los Angeles, a diverse group of tech leaders, and the inventor of the SuperSoaker.

However, for Kate Hudson, who portrays Birdie Jay – a model, we can learn everything we want to know about the characters from their initial group introduction, which takes place while they are waiting to board a yacht in the Mediterranean.

“The great reference in this is how we all wear masks,” Hudson says, pointing out to the movie’s inclusion of the COVID pandemic in its plot (while perhaps also leaning a little on the meta side).

“You got Lionel (Leslie Odom Jr.), [the scientist] showing up double-masked. I’m showing up with, like, a lace or mesh mask. Claire (Kathryn Hahn) is showing up with it hanging down like a chin strap. Benoit Blanc (Daniel Craig) has a very chic and tight mask.”

Bron, the millionaire owner of private islands, may have drawn inspiration from a wide range of people, while Johnson maintains that variety was substantial.

“If I thought about anybody to base this on specifically, it got very boring very quickly,” Johnson said. “It had to be an amalgam. It had to be more about the character and relationship to the power structure.”

Norton Take on Miles

Even more unexpectedly, Norton compares Miles and his technique to Stanley Kowalski in A Streetcar Named Desire, played by Marlon Brando.

“To be able to take the best of the worst qualities from so many of these people and put them all into one guy was the fun in it,” he elaborated.

“Sometimes when you look at certain characters that we love, a lot of times what someone’s doing is taking something that actually is a little bit too heightened and pulling it down into being believable.

“If you really look at what Tennessee Williams is writing with Stanley Kowalski, on paper, it’s almost too much masculinity. But somehow it ends up representing something great. Miles is the Kowalski of tech douchebags.”

Furthermore, Odom makes fun of the fact that he kept so many secrets, leaving him to wrestle with serious ethical dilemmas.

“Lionel’s hiding everything he feels about Miles,” he reflects. “All that was buried — the guilt that we have. These people have been pushed out of line of their integrity by Miles. We had a lot of fun. But there were real-world stakes.”

Even with all on the table, there are still plenty of surprises in Glass Onion. You can do so starting today with a unique one-week theater engagement before the mystery film debuts on Netflix on December 23.
