‘The Super Mario Bros. Movie’ Introduces Voice Actors

The Super Mario Bros. Movie previously introduced the actors who would portray the movie characters. It stars Chris Pratt, Charlie Day as Luigi, Keegan-Michael Key as Toad and Jack Black as Bowser.

Right now, the latest trailer introduces Seth Rogen as Donkey Kong and Anya Taylor-Joy as Princess Peach. It also shows the start of his style of Mario Kart racing.

The last clip starts with a race between Mario and Kong in a stadium. Plus, they showed it off during a virtual Nintendo Direct presentation on Tuesday.

Although Mario cheers himself with a “Let’s-a-go!” the gorilla still beats him. The trailer also provides a sneak peek at Peach’s castle while she gets ready for a race against Bowser. She then spots Mario in his costume.

Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic serve as directors of The Super Mario Bros. Movie. Jelenic previously directed Teen Titans Go! To the Movies

The film chronicles Bowser as he claims to be an unseen superstar. He then laughs evilly as Mario and his friends fight to end their plans for world domination.

In addition, the film sees Fred Armisen’s Cranky Kong, Kevin Michael Richardson’s Kamek, Sebastian Maniscalo’s Spike, and Charles Martinet as several characters. Notably, Martinet voiced Mario and Luigi in the games.

Mario Bros. with Cast

Ahead of Tuesday’s trailer, the production has released a teaser poster. Also depicted is a stained glass window in which Peach in the castle holds an empty throne. This is a pretty hilarious reference to the fact that Princesses in Mario Her games are often outside of their castles.

“I hope that you enjoyed the movie as much as I enjoyed working on it,” Taylor-Joy stated in the Nintendo Direct.

Rogen added: “For my entire life, I have been a fan of the worlds created by Mitamoto-san.”

“In fact, my dog is named Zelda. Ever since I was a kid playing Playchoice 10, I remember playing Marios Bros. and thinking: ‘If they ever make a movie of this, I better be in it.’ And I’m happy today that dream came true.”

Pratt butted in the conversion sharing his encounter with the Mario Bros.

“Growing up, man, I spend hours of my life stomping Koopas in the original Mario Bros. That dream, like all dreams, faces on critical challenge as in the film: I must face off against an utterly ruthless scene stealer,” he said.

“Every great hero needs a diabolical enemy. And I promise you I could not have been paired with a more King of Koopas, Bowser, my friend, the great and hilarious, supremely talented Jack Black!”

The Super Mario Bros. Movie premieres in theaters on April 7, 2023.
