Legendary heavy metal band Metallica has confirmed a series of major concert dates across Europe for 2026 as part of the ongoing M72 World Tour, extending what has become one of the most ambitious live campaigns in modern rock history. The tour, supporting the band’s 2023 album 72 Seasons, will see the group perform in multiple stadiums throughout the continent with an expanded lineup of support acts.

The 2026 leg of the tour is scheduled to begin in early May and run through early July, with confirmed shows in cities including Athens, Bucharest, Chorzów, Frankfurt, Zurich, Berlin, Bologna, Budapest, Dublin, Glasgow, Cardiff, and London. In several locations, Metallica will present “No Repeat Weekend” performances, meaning fans attending both nights will see completely different setlists on each night of a given stop.

The band’s full production will once again feature their signature in-the-round stage design, with the “Snake Pit” positioned at the center of the field to give audiences a 360-degree concert experience. This format, which has been a hallmark of the M72 World Tour since its launch in 2023, has played a key role in the tour’s commercial success.

Metallica is also bringing a diverse slate of opening acts to the 2026 dates, including heavyweights Gojira and Knocked Loose at many shows, and support from Pantera and Avatar on select nights. This broad roster underscores the band’s influence across metal subgenres and its role in spotlighting both legacy and contemporary artists.

The extension into 2026 follows a multi-year global trek that has already taken the band to stadiums across North America, Europe, the Middle East, and Australia. As of late 2025, the M72 World Tour has drawn millions of fans and ranks among the highest-grossing tours of the decade.

Tickets for many of the European dates, including the UK stadium shows in Glasgow, Cardiff, and London, are on sale with both single-day and “No Repeat Weekend” options available. Fans have taken note of the rarity of some of the stops, particularly in cities where Metallica has not performed in decades.

The announcement of the 2026 tour dates continues to generate buzz across the global metal community, reinforcing Metallica’s enduring draw as one of the genre’s most influential live acts.
