Aria Jay is Set to Release Remix of Her Song “Cried All On My Own” on August 23

Rising music artist Aria Jay continues to rise like the shooting star she is made to be, with the expected release of a StoneBridge remix of her single “Cried All On My Own” this coming August 23, 2022. The song was originally part of her most recent EP When the Sun Comes Up.

In 2018, Aria worked closely with Cam Outlaw of Whirling Wolf Records on her debut EP, Growth. The project was released in 2018, together with her debut music video for the song “He Said.” Shortly after that, she was selected as artist in residence at Holyrad Studio located in Brooklyn. While at Holyrad Studio, she developed a visual album for the song “Growth,” which was produced and directed by Janet S. Kim. It was also released in 2018.

The following year, Aria took the challenge to be a producer and sound engineer. She also started to create records for herself in her home studio. In the same year, Aria introduced her single “Secrets,” the first of many in her recordings. After that, Aria took a big leap of faith and established her own production studio, Saint Morretta. It was there that Aria completed her most recent EP When the Sun Comes Up. She collaborated with various artists to complete that EP, including Daisy the Great, John Lenox, and Halima.

Aria is keeping herself busy with writing and production work for herself and other music artists. She was most recently invited to Ari Herstand (Ari’sTake) and Danny Ross’s (Anti Social Producers Club) SongCon, working with Grammy-winning songwriters, producers and engineers, including Chris Sclafani, Dan Edinberg, and Marc Plotkin.

The Brooklyn-based music artist started singing when she was only 11 years old. She worked with Judy Hages to further sharpen her singing voice to prepare for the time when she would be fully known to audiences worldwide. She worked closely with Judy after learning that she had a nodule on her vocal cords. Using the classical Bel Canto technique, Aria managed to heal with surgery.

While in middle and high school, she volunteered in any kind of musical available to further train her singing voice. She sang in the choir, was the singer in her high school’s jazz band, played the clarinet, and sang in an original funk band. She then went on to study jazz performance and composition at The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music in Manhattan, working with jazz greats Reggie Workman, Charles Tolliver, and Rachel Z. Since graduating, she has worked and toured with numerous acts across the music scene recovering a span of genres.

The future is looking very bright for Aria as she continues to empower herself as a songwriter and producer on top of her professional career as a music artist. Her next release is scheduled for August 23rd, and is a StoneBridge remix of her song “Cried All On My Own” originally released on her most recent EP. Amidst her success in the business, she remains grounded as a person and passionate as an artist. At the end of the day, being able to help other talented individuals is something she can see herself doing in the long run.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Stars Pay Tribute to Chadwick Boseman

In the production of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Danai Gurira, Lupita Nyong’o, Winston Duke, and Letitia Wright wanted to honor their co-star Chadwick Boseman.

The crowd went wild as the actors dominated Hall H at Comic-Con in San Diego on Saturday, revealing a trailer for their most awaited Marvel sequel.

After their performance, the actors sat down with EW and discussed why it was vital for them to get the movie right. On top of everything, according to them, they expect Wakanda Forever will honor Boseman, who was killed in August 2020 at 43 due to colon cancer.

“The most important thing, of course, was honoring our brother, our leader, and our king,” Gurira said in the interview with EW.

“That was definitely at the forefront of our minds and our spirits and our hearts. There was this amazing impact that the first Black Panther had, so the need, I think, was to really solidify that these characters and this world have an arc. It wasn’t a one-time momentous thing.”

Black Panther First Movie: A Manual Wakanda Forever Should Follow

The stars are looking to carry on their legacy and make Wakanda Forever just as fantastic as the first film – which smashed box office records and marked the first time a Marvel movie was nominated for the Oscars for Best Picture.

Their goal was to broaden the scope of Panther’s first theme, venture into new areas and strengthen character arcs, said Gurira.

“It’s also important to let go of any expectation that this movie will be Black Panther 1,” Duke chimed in.

“This is going to be its own thing. This narrative has evolved, and it’s changed, just like all the characters and the circumstances of Wakanda itself. For me, in particular, I just had to let go of the expectation of this being anything like the first movie and allow this movie to be its own thing.”

The cast for Wakanda Forever is already known, but it just got bigger, with a new addition – Gurira, Nyong’o, Duke, Wright, and Florence Kasumba. In addition, Tenoch Huerta plays fabled ruler Namor alongside Mabel Cadena and Alex Livinalli, portraying the characters of Namora and Attuma.

The movie will also see the debut of Michaela Coel as Aneka and Dominique Thorne as Riri Williams, an excellent teenage tech inventor who will later be featured in her own Disney+ series, Ironheart

“It was very surreal for me to jump on this train,” Livinalli stated. “It didn’t feel like it was a sequel. It felt like it was its own thing, and I felt very welcome. I felt like I was part of the family.”

The stars highlight Ryan Coogler’s dedication to Wakanda and stress his “integrity” during production and how he has helmed their story.

“There’s not many directors like Ryan out there,” Write stated.

“The soul and the heart of the film with the writing, and he has a sensitivity to our ideas and how we want to collaborate. [We loved] just having him be the one spearheading these ideas and the structure and just being our leader each day on set. It’s a dream come true to work with him again.”

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever is coming to theaters on November 11.

Amaarae and Tems Sing Tracks for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

The first trailer for Marvel’s new film, Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which will be released on November 11, has just been released, and it is sure to get your heart racing.

Now, the Wakanda Forever Prologue EP – composed of three songs – is dropped by the Disney Music Group, featuring Bob Marley’s “No Woman No Cry” covered by Tems and Santa Fe Klan’s “A Body, A Coffin” and “Soy” covered by Amaarae.

The three tracks are produced by the film’s composer, Ludwig Göransson.

In a statement, director Ryan Coogler and Göransson explained the EP.

“This Prologue is an aural first glimpse of Wakanda Forever. The sound world for the film began with extended trips to Mexico and Nigeria,” it said.

“We spent our days working with traditional musicians who educated us about the cultural, social and historical contexts of their music. We built a catalogue of instrumental and vocal recordings with them that explored both traditional and non-traditional uses of their musical material.”

They took pains to accurately represent the music in their film and original artists’ work.

They added, “During the nights on these trips, we had recording sessions with contemporary artists who were akin to the characters and thematic material explored in the film. Using the script as a blueprint, along with the recordings from the traditional musicians, we began to build a musical vocabulary for the characters, storylines and cultures.”

The statement stressed how the trip improved the “instrumental score and soundtrack” of the film.

“The instrumental score and soundtrack for Wakanda Forever both organically grew from these sessions and workshops. They are conceived together as a singular entity to create an immersive and enveloping sound world for the film,” the statement concluded.

First Black Panther film

The first Black Panther film’s soundtrack was curated and produced by Kendrick Lamar, featuring SZA, Travis Scott, the Weeknd, Future, James Blake, Swae Lee, and many more.

In 2019, Chadwick Boseman, who portrayed T’Challa in the first Black Panther and numerous Marvel films, died due to colon cancer.

Göransson bagged the Best Original Music Score award for his song from the movie.

Riverdale Producers Teases Final Episode of the Season

After months of uncertainty, Riverdale citizens can breathe a sigh of relief. Or can they?

They united and put an end to Percival’s (Chris O’Shea) wicked ways in the last events of the last episode.

But by the end of the last episode, Cheryl (Madelaine Petsch) told everyone about Percival’s last spell which is taking Bailey’s comet to their town – hitting it right on time.

“In a weird way our penultimate episode, which was the final battle between Percival and our gang, felt like our really big, action-packed finale,” Riverdale producer Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa said in an interview with EW.

“We did that consciously so that in our last episode, we could focus weirdly on more emotional stories and character stories and relationship stories. The question we asked when we were breaking the story was: ‘Okay, all of these characters we love, they have one last day to live. They have 12 hours, how are they going to spend those 12 hours?”

Riverdale Enthusiasts Must Expect ‘Quieter’ Season Finale

The last episode of the season will have a “quieter” tone, said Aguirre-Sacasa. However that doesn’t mean the stakes are lower.

“The threat they’re facing is apocalyptic,” Aguirre-Sacasa added. “A comet is going to destroy everyone, and there’s a magical force field keeping everyone trapped in Riverdale.”

The clock is ticking, and the characters are faced with a difficult decision. They have only one day left to live out their final moments in peace before the comet hits.

“I love our scenes when all the characters are together talking about what they’re going to do, and I think them all wrestling with this changes the temperature of the season,” Aguirre-Sacasa continued.

“It slows it down a little bit in a great way. We jokingly said that we use the movie Melancholia as a little bit of an inspiration for the season so that we could live with our characters in what might be their final moments.”

And ultimately, whatever happens with the comet, it might set up the series’ seventh and last season.

Riverdale season finale premiered yesterday – Sunday, July 31 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW.

Ana de Armas Takes on Blonde

Ana de Armas is set to portray the iconic Hollywood figure, Marilyn Monroe in Andrew Dominik’s new drama, Blonde. The film will explore how her life spirals.

The first trailer for this year’s most-awaited film has finally arrived and it gave us a glimpse into the life of an actress who is trying to hold on as Hollywood tries tearing apart everything she worked for.

“I’ve played Marilyn Monroe, Marilyn Monroe, Marilyn Monroe. I can’t face doing another scene with Marilyn Monroe,” de Armas states in the video, which contains a creepy rendition of Monroe’s “Diamonds Are a Girl’s Best Friend,” from 1953’s Gentlemen Prefer Blondes.

“Marilyn doesn’t exist. When I come out of my dressing room, I’m Norma Jean. I’m still here when the camera is rolling. Marilyn Monroe only exists on the screen.”

In this new take on Joyce Carol Oates’ novel, in Blonde, we see Monroe’s life through a fantastical lens as opposed to the harsh biopic that has been done before.

The official synopsis emphasizes that the movie stresses “a life both known and unknown” in a “boldly imaginative” project that navigates the complexity of the legend’s unsettling life.

The Netflix movie is rated NC-17 for its sexual content.

Is Blonde Really for the Unloved Children of the World?

Previously, Dominik referred to the film as “a movie for all the unloved children of the world,” talking to Collider.

“It’s like Citizen Kane and Raging Bull had a baby daughter,” he further said.

“The whole idea of Blonde was to detail a childhood drama and then show the way in which that drama splits the adults into a public and private self. And how the adult sees the world through the lens of that childhood drama, and it’s sort of a story of a person whose rational picture of the world as being overwhelmed by her unconscious, and it uses the iconography of Marilyn Monroe.”

Blonde, featuring Adrien Brody as Arthur Miller and Bobby Cannavale as Joe DiMaggio – two of Monroe’s husbands, drops on Netflix on September 28, after its debut at the Venice International Film Festival 2022.

Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik Back as Permanent Jeopardy Hosts

Ken Jennings and Mayim Bialik have signed contracts to stay as hosts of Jeopardy, following in the footsteps of Alex Trebek.

The announcement comes two days following news that Jennings and Bialik would appear in it for the long run.

“The fact is, we have so much Jeopardy! to make, and so many plans for the future, that we always knew we would need multiple hosts for the franchise and we are just so grateful that Mayim and Ken stepped in and stepped up to put the show in a position to succeed,” said executive producer Michael Davis in a statement.

“In Mayim and Ken, we have two outstanding hosts at the beginning of their Jeopardy! hosting careers who connect with their own unique fanbases, new fans, and the traditional Jeopardy! viewer.”

Jennings is coming back for more. He’ll host Jeopardy season 39, which begins in September and lasts through December – counting the first Second Chance competition and the Tournament of Champions.

He’s got a stacked card for this one. From Amy Schneider and Matt Amodio to Mattea Roach, Ryan Long, and others.

Bialik will anchor the new segment of the show Celebrity Jeopardy in prime time ahead of assuming the host position from Jennings in January.

She will balance her filming schedule with Fox’s Call Me Kat  to host new tournaments, including the National College Championships.

Jeopardy Plans to be Consistent

“We know you value consistency, so we will not flip flop the hosts constantly and will keep you informed about the hosting schedule,” Davies stated.

That consistency vow comes after a difficult search to find a replacement for Trebek. Following a series of guest hosts, Jeopardy first revealed plans for executive producer Mike Richard to be the permanent host. However, the decision was withdrawn after offensive statements previously made by him on a podcast appeared again, sparking a public protest.

Bialik and Jennings have been hosting together over the 2021-2022 season. On Monday, the episodes that will play will be repeated and will remain that way until the new season starts.

Other plans for Jeopardy include a podcast every week with the producers of the show that will give analysis, behind-the-scenes moments, and talks about new developments.

Bruce Springsteen’s Manager Justifies Ticket Prices

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band’s highly anticipated tour in 2023 has experienced a bump before beginning their road trip: the “dynamic pricing” of Ticketmaster.

Fans possessing access codes were sold tickets priced from $1,000 to $5,000, which many have criticized and have been a flocked issue on social media.

In the wake of the recent backlash, Springsteen’s manager Jon Landau has currently issued a statement justifying the tour’s ticket pricing.

“In pricing tickets for this tour, we looked carefully at what our peers have been doing,” Landau told The New York Times.

“We chose prices that are lower than some and on par with others. Regardless of the commentary about a modest number of tickets costing $1,000 or more, our true average ticket price has been in the mid-$200 range. I believe that in today’s environment, that is a fair price to pay to see someone universally regarded as among the very greatest artists of his generation.”

Ticketmaster Defends Ticket Pricing

Previously, Ticketmaster has released a statement along the lines of Landau’s comments.

“Prices and formats are consistent with industry standards for top performers,” said Ticketmaster.

The company said only 1.3% of tickets that were sold went for over $1,000.

“Promoters and artist representatives set pricing strategy and price range parameters on all tickets, including dynamic and fixed price points,” said a Ticketmaster spokeswoman in an interview with The Times.

“When there are far more people who want to attend an event than there are tickets available, prices go up.”

Springsteen Career

Springsteen is a collaborator of former President Barack Obama in his podcast, Renegade: Born in the USA.

He has released 20 studio albums – most of it features his backing band, the E Street Band. He dropped his first two albums – Greetings from Asbury Park, N.J. and The Wild, the Innocent  the E Street Shuffle – in 1973.

Later, he changed his style and gained global traction with Born to Run in 1975, 1978’s Darkness on the Edge of Town and 1980’s The River followed suit.

Springsteen is one of the world’s best-selling music artists. He has bagged countless trophies such as 20 Grammy Awards, two Golden Globes, one Academy Award, and a Special Tony Award.

Barack Obama Discloses his 2022 Favorite Summer Songs

It’s finally time! The highly-anticipated Barack Obama yearly summer playlist has been released, and it doesn’t disappoint.

Obama handed the top rank to Beyoncé, starting this list with her new song “Break My Soul” from an upcoming album, Renaissance

He named some high-profile artists like Harry Styles with “Music For a Sushi Restaurant,” Bad Bunny with “Ojitos Lindos” featuring Bomba Estéreo, Kendrick Lamar with “Die Hard,” and Wet Leg with “Angelica” in his list.

It’s no surprise that Obama’s podcast (Renegades: Born in the USA) collaborator Bruce Springsteen also ranked this year with “Dancing in the Dark.” And as we have expected, the list came with a few golden oldies such as Aretha Franklin with “Save Me” and Al Green with “I Can’t Get Next to You.”

“Every year, I get excited to share my summer playlist because I learn about so many new artists from your replies,” Obama said on Twitter. “It’s an example of how music really can bring us all together.”

Obama also shared his summer reading list for this year, and we’re excited to read about a few of our favorite books. Emily St. John Mandel’s Sea of Tranquility and Jennifer Egan’s The Candy House were included in the roster, as well as Charmaine Wilkerson’s Black Cake and Lan Samantha Chang’s The Family Chao.
