Yui Stonewell is a singer/songwriter with a passion for the healing, comforting and communicative power of music. Since early in 2020, the Tokyo-based Indie-Pop artist and her composer/producer brother Tak have released a collection of new music with the expressed desire to connect with their audience through shared experiences. In that time the duo have delivered a 5-song EP, nine singles and number ten is on the way.
“Not Here to Save the World” is the forthcoming new single from Yui Stonewell, dropping everywhere on October 5, 2021. In many ways the song summarizes the entire Stonewell mission in a simple sentiment, “I’m not here to save the world, but I wanna be closer.” A jazzy guitar plays a melodic chord progression as Yui sings of the turbulent times in which we are living. Airy vocal harmonies and ambient synths paint the periphery as her Pop-perfect voice and Tak’s ethereal guitar expound on the virtue of just getting by… together.
“We continue creating in hopes that even one person might have a better day because of a song we write, or one person out there feels understood and less alone.” – Yui Stonewell
