From winning prestigious awards to performing on some of the world’s most iconic stages, her journey exemplifies the blend of talent, dedication, and hard work required to succeed in the highly competitive field of opera and classical vocal performance.

Born and educated in China, Yuhan Sun began studying singing at the age of eight. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Music Performance from the Shenyang Conservatory of Music. Eager to further her studies and refine her skills, she went on to earn a Master of Music in Opera Performance from Arizona State University between 2019 and 2021. This solid educational foundation has enabled Sun to develop a rich, nuanced vocal technique that is both technically precise and emotionally expressive, qualities that have drawn attention to her performances across various platforms.

Sun’s success on the international competition circuit underscores her exceptional abilities. In 2022 alone, she garnered multiple prestigious awards, including second place at the American Protégé International Vocal Competition and the Gold Award/Best Vocalist Award at the BCMA Professional Category (Season 3). She also earned the Silver Prize at the World Classical Music Awards (Season 3), the Gold Prize at the Global Genius Music Competition (Summer Season), and took home first prize at the Bach International Music Competition. These accolades are a testament to Sun’s artistic excellence and her ability to interpret complex vocal works with great depth and skill.

Beyond the competition stage, Sun’s performance résumé is equally impressive. In 2022, she was a featured soloist at Carnegie Hall in New York City, where she performed as part of the American Protégé Winner Recital, a milestone achievement that highlights her growing presence on the global classical music scene. Her previous performances have spanned a wide range of repertoire, from Italian art songs in Tieling, China, to Chinese aria and art songs in Shenyang. Her vocal versatility and ability to perform across different musical genres and languages make her a standout performer in the opera world.
