Shannon K is kicking off the new year with a bang! Her latest single, “OTT,“ is dropping on January 10th, and it’s all about good vibes, fun energy, and breaking free. This isn’t the same old Shannon K you’ve heard before—this track is a whole new mood.

Talking about what inspired the song, Shannon says, “The inspiration behind this song was to create something fun with bold high-energy confident sound along with the lyrics which spoke out to people who feel somewhat closed off in a relationship and feel the need of a bit freedom, craziness, fun.”

From the get-go, Shannon and her team knew they were onto something special. “This song was actually super fun to work on. I think to start off the song we did give it some time and thought to it, but once we had found the vibe, we just kicked it off and wrote what we felt through the sound,” she explains.

Leveling Up

With “OTT,“ Shannon is showing off a whole new side of herself. “I would say with “OTT”I have experimented with a different genre, mood—a bit matured, you can say—and approach to the kinds of songs that I had been making in the past. My previous work focused more on storytelling and emotions within certain boundaries. ‘OTT’ is an expansion of those ideas, offering a more raw, unfiltered version of my artistic journey.”

This track isn’t just about breaking free; it’s about letting loose and having a blast. “I hope the listeners would walk away feeling liberated and such, have a fun experience enjoying the song. Let loose for a while and do you,” Shannon shares, making it clear she wants her fans to vibe with her on this one.

Influenced by Icons

If “OTT” gives you major Dua Lipa or The Weeknd energy, that’s no coincidence. Shannon reveals, “Yes, I’d say Dua Lipa, The Weeknd were some artists that inspired and influenced the genre and sound.”

And to make the track pop, Shannon teamed up with Grammy-nominated, multi-platinum record producer Luigie “LUGO” Gonzalez. “It was wonderful to work with Grammy-nominated multi-platinum record producer Luigie LUGO Gonzalez,” she says, highlighting the dream team behind the track.

Music Video Vibes

What’s a fire track without some killer visuals? While a music video hasn’t been officially announced, Shannon has big ideas. “There may be a music video sometime in the future, and I would certainly add all the elements into the video inspired by the audio. I want the visuals to feel immersive, almost like a journey through different emotional landscapes. There will be a lot of abstract and cinematic elements, with vibrant colors, shifting environments, and unexpected transitions. So, I hope that people would enjoy the music video just as much as the song.”

New Year, New Era

For Shannon, “OTT” is just the start of something bigger. “This is just the beginning, and with OTT being the first to start off the new year, I am very excited to see the response and keep working in a similar vibe, giving something special and different to the listeners,” she says.

As for fan feedback? Shannon’s excited to hear it all. “The song will be out on Jan 10th, so I hope it’s gonna be all good reviews,” she says with a laugh.

Getting Real

Creating “OTT” wasn’t just a musical experiment—it was a chance for Shannon to grow. “OTT encouraged me to be more open and honest with myself, and as a result, the music became more real and raw. It reminded me that to evolve, I have to be willing to take risks and step outside my comfort zone, which sometimes means not knowing exactly where things are going until they fall into place. OTT really allowed me to express myself, and I hope to continue to do so through my other projects.”
