Rising Musician Chad Bushnell Sheds Light on His Rise in the Country Music Scene

Family can play an influence in shaping an individual’s aspirations, even from a young age. In music and entertainment, many modern stars in both industries today followed in the footsteps of their parents or relatives. Likewise, Chad Bushnell has been doing the same, having grown up in a musical family.

Born and raised in Red Bluff, California, Chad was immediately thrust into the world of music thanks to the influence of his family. “My father performed in a local country band when I was a boy,” he recalled. “I have aunts and uncles on both sides of my family who sing and perform, and my great-grandmother played piano at church.” At four years old, Chad started to join them, playing the guitar and singing.

The young musician took his talents with him beyond the church doors, singing the national anthem at numerous rodeos, football games, and other events. Regardless of where he played, Chad’s parents went with him as his biggest supporters. When the musician grew older, he started expanding his horizons, performing at many fairs, political events, fundraisers, casinos, bars, church functions, and convention centers. Throughout the years, Chad would participate in a number of contests, including the American Country Star competition, coming in as a top 3 finalist and winning the Horizon award in 2014.

Chad Bushnell would go even further, opening for other artists like Kris Kristofferson, Dwight Yoakam, Neil McCoy, Billy Currington, and more. When he started on his own, Chad’s first Christian single, “What Would Jesus Do,” reached the top spot on the Christian Music Weekly charts in 2019. His latest single, “That Ain’t My Church,” managed to reach the same level of success. He won the ICMA New Artist of the Year in 2019 and Contemporary Country Vocalist of the Year at the 2020 Josie Music Awards

Although he is a growing star who shines on the stage, Chad is an introvert when he isn’t standing in front of a mic. “As far as characteristics go, I am somewhat reserved in my personal life,” he explained. “However, I am as outgoing as possible at shows. I like to work the crowd and always love meeting new fans.”

Chad Bushnell’s career is already indicating that he is set for even greater things, and while the growing fanbase has encouraged him, the musician remains humble and aware of the competitive nature in the industry. Despite the challenge he is faced with, Chad is excited to take on the challenge, believing that the greater the challenge, the better he can improve. With an unwavering drive and a strong work ethic, Chad believes that his qualities can allow him to be distinguishable from other artists.

The rising musician attributes his success to his family’s influence, citing the support of his parents, his little sister’s presence for keeping him grounded, and his uncles, aunts, and grandmother’s influence growing up.

“I feel that growing up around them was what motivated me to build my own style and brand of music and I feel that I can’t stop chasing my dreams until I get where I want to be,” he said.

With his career on the rise, Chad Bushnell hopes to eventually sign a record deal or publishing deal. He foresees opportunities pouring in, giving him the chance to perform at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville. Additionally, he hopes to take his career on the road, playing shows in the next few years.Learn more about Chad Bushnell by visiting his official YouTube channel.
