Written in Miami’s club era and vaulted for decades, the singer-songwriter’s debut album arrives November 5, 2026, rebuilt with German synth-pop producer Thomas Müller.

Some debut albums are a first draft of an artist. Peter David’s is a time capsule.

Stay With Me Tonight, out November 5, 2026, collects ten songs he wrote and first recorded between 1995 and 1999, while living in Miami’s South Beach. The songs were meant for a 1999 album. After years of rejection from the industry, they stayed in his vault until now.

The result sits somewhere between 90s Euro-pop, synth-pop and singer-songwriter rock: glowing synths, piano-led ballads, a saxophone solo, and a title track with a full rock guitar break.

The Sound of SoBe After Midnight

Peter calls South Beach in the 90s “one big melting pot,” a 24/7 scene of clubs, chance encounters and relationships with no rules. The album is his storybook of that era, written as it happened.

The lead single, “Miami Nights,” released July 3, 2026, is dedicated to “the city that never sleeps,” and producer Thomas Müller added a saxophone line that gives it a romantic lift. Peter says it reminds him of Rindy Ross’s sax solos in Quarterflash.

Two Continents, One Record

The album exists because of a YouTube comment. In spring 2026, Peter publicly reached out to Thomas Müller, a German synth-pop creator known for the projects Thalessio and SYNEON, after falling for his music. Thomas answered, heard Peter’s song “Silent Partner,” and offered to produce the album under his TM Music Projects banner.

Peter first sent over his master files, then recorded a cappella vocals on some of the songs at Abbaloo Studios, his home studio in Maryland, for clarity, keeping each song’s structure. Thomas built the productions in Germany, keeping much of Peter’s original playing: the piano on “Forever!” and “(This Time) Goodbye,” the rhythm guitar on the title track, and the string section on “Silent Partner.” AI-assisted production, used as a tool, helped stabilise Peter’s voice in the higher registers; the songs and the voice are his own.

Peter and Thomas are lifelong ABBA fans, and it shows. The album leans into big, melodic choruses and polished Euro-pop production, with nods to Peter’s other heroes: Sandra, Stevie Nicks, Pat Benatar and Heart.

Track by Track

1. Emerald Eyes

Peter’s “own confession” about getting lost in the 90s dance-circuit scene.

2. (This Time) Goodbye

A dance reworking of a ballad written for an unreleased 2002 album, about walking away from something toxic. Peter’s original piano keeps the ABBA flavour.

3. Miami Nights

The lead single: neon, nightlife and that saxophone.

4. Invite-Moi, Chez Toi

A cheeky, playful song about a typical South Beach afternoon, “before social media and apps.”

5. I Am Alive

One of his earliest songs, written in 1994 on a friend’s upright piano. A ballad inspired by Agnetha Fältskog at the piano at Wembley in 1979 and Irene Cara in Fame.

6. Stay With Me Tonight

The title track and the first song he ever tracked, in 1996. A five-and-a-half-minute rock-leaning epic, long like his favourite ABBA track, “Eagle,” with a new guitar solo from Thomas.

7. Silent Partner

The song that started the collaboration: melancholy, string-led, about wanting something that can only exist in secret.

8. One Chance (In Life)

Built from an instrumental experiment inspired by Harold Faltermeyer’s 1984 Thief of Hearts score. A warning about people who charm you for their own reasons.

9. One By One

Peter’s love letter to pop and to SoBe, where “every night was a Friday night.”

10. Forever!

The closer, written around 2000 after he left South Beach. It’s an uplifting dance track inspired by the love of his life, with his original piano still in the mix.

Why Now

After leaving music in 2002, Peter returned to songwriting in 2014 and spent most of 2025 re-recording nearly forty demos from his original masters. The collaboration with Thomas turned those demos into a finished album.

“With no shame, no regrets, I am ready to share them with you,” Peter says of the songs. “I hope you enjoy my little storybook of original songs.”

Stay With Me Tonight by Peter David is released November 5, 2026, on all major streaming platforms. “Miami Nights” is streaming now. Lyrics and the full story behind each song are at theofficialpeterdavid.com, and Peter is on Instagram at @theofficialpeterdavid.
