Nigerian Musician, GAvaz Aims for Global Recognition and Acceptance through Music

Nigerian music, especially Afrobeats, has gained global prominence over the last decade that many people now see as a goldmine in an otherwise neglected music landscape. This growth played a defining role in GAvaz’s musical journey and has set him on the path to building a career outside the shores of Nigeria, with the hopes of achieving international prominence as a rapper, singer, and songwriter.

Born in Lagos, Nigeria, 21 years ago, GAvaz is a Texas-based musician sticking to his roots while pursuing international success in music. His personal experience and day-to-day activities usually light up his creative space. He sings about topics and situations around him while infusing Afrobeats into his hip-hop and rap sound. GAvaz is a versatile artist, and he shows that versatility in his drill flows. He brings out the best in every song genre and sticks to his authentic voice without using presets on his voice.

Music is GAvaz’s first love, and he is committed to making the most out of it no matter what it takes. He’s currently courting the attention of music lovers, A&R companies, and concert agents. GAvaz wants his music to travel far and wide so the whole world can enjoy his voice, his flows, and his melody. One of the standout things about his music is the ability to sound differently and fit into any music genre. His background plays a huge factor in how his music has been shaped over the years, and he never shies away from that fact or the dreams he has nurtured all his life. His music entails many feel-good elements geared toward making the listener get out of bad mood swings and not worry about their problems.

Music for GAvaz is a dream come true, and his passion for keeping that dream alive has kept him going over the years. “I get motivated daily by my goals, aspirations, and dreams. I understand that everyone has a dream, and we all have different pathways and hustles to achieve them. That keeps me level-headed and focused on mine. It’s all the motivation I need,” he says. Five years from now, GAvaz sees himself doing better in the music industry, getting the Afrobeats and Drill sound more attention in the diaspora and inspiring other people to chase their dreams unapologetically.

“You might ask what I want out of all this. I just want to do what I love, bring my dreams to life, and get my music out there. The fame and fortune might come along the line, but the love for the craft supersedes everything else,” GAvaz says. Making it as a Nigerian living in the United States while retaining the originality of his roots is quite a bit of work. However, the end-goal is more important than the work involved, and he is more than prepared to put in the hours, effort, and resources needed to show the world that as long as someone puts in the work, anything is possible.
