Musik G and The Underground Army have firmly established themselves as a formidable force in the hip-hop world, earning international acclaim for their relentless pursuit of artistic independence and longevity in the industry. Their journey, marked by notable collaborations and performances across the globe, continues to resonate with hip-hop enthusiasts, securing their place in the annals of music history.

Musik G and The Underground Army have a storied history of performances across the United States, sharing stages with iconic artists such as Afrika Bambaataa, Slick Rick, KRS-One, and Craig Mack. Their influence extends beyond the US, with performances in Germany, Holland, England, and France, where they collaborated with Ed OG and the Awesome 2, further solidifying their global presence.

Musik G’s recording career has been equally illustrious. His contributions to the “Human Education Against Lies” (H.E.A.L.) projects on Elektra Records saw him working alongside legends like LL Cool J, Queen Latifah, Big Daddy Kane, and Shabba Ranks. This project underscored Musik G’s commitment to using hip hop as a vehicle for education and social change. His collaboration with Ansel Cridland of the Meditations on the “What Kind of World” project released on Mau Mau Jungle (Sky High Records) added another layer to his diverse portfolio.

The release of the album “The Underground Can’t Be Stopped” received critical acclaim within various hip-hop communities worldwide. Singles like “Rock On” b/w “No Games” and “Tear It Down” b/w “Live on the Box” on UGA Recordings further showcased Musik G’s versatility and ability to capture the essence of hip-hop through powerful lyrics and dynamic beats.

The Underground Army’s roster includes talented artists like Danjah Stand Clear who released 2 singles recently entitled Weight On My Shoulders and Ready 2 Rock which received significant airplay around the world on many college radio mix shows. His debut album is currently in progress, aiming to deliver more of the raw, authentic hip-hop that fans have come to expect.

Glaze is the MC, who recently released hit singles with Dennis Kellman entitled We Outside and Slyck, a remake of Gang Starr’s “Dwyck” featuring Masta Ace. His forthcoming album is highly anticipated in the hip-hop community.

Musik G’s influence extends beyond music production and performance. He hosted his own radio show, “The Original B-Side” on WBAI 99.5 FM, alongside DJ Frenzi from 1996 to 2000. He also produced special segments for Chet Jackson’s legendary “Nite Flyte” show on WBAI, further cementing his role as a key figure in the hip-hop broadcasting community. Additionally, Musik G contributed to the Underground Ruffhouse Video Show hosted by Uncle Jessie Barnes and provided music for the Martial Arts World Television Show produced by ESPY-TV for the Madison Square Garden Network.

Musik G’s dedication to hip-hop culture is evident in his involvement with the HipHop Declaration of Peace, presented to the United Nations on May 16, 2001. This declaration, signed by organizations such as Temple Of Hip Hop, Ribbons International, and UNESCO, along with 300 hip-hop activists including Musik G and The Underground Army, highlights his commitment to promoting peace and positive values through hip-hop.

In 2016, Musik G and The Underground Army received the Hip Hop Culture Award for Years of Outstanding Achievement, recognizing their significant contributions to the genre. In 2020, Musik G and Mr. Hooper were awarded Song of the Year (People’s Choice) for their hit “Jaw Jackin” on the Walking Razor Entertainment label. Most recently, in 2022, their single “Walk With Me” reached the peak spot on the College Hip Hop Radio RapAttackLives Chart, a testament to their enduring appeal and influence.
