The Erly is set to release their 11-track LP Culture Fever, complete with hits that are already leaving listeners wanting more. The four-person ensemble based out of Niles, MI has compiled a carefully cultivated concoction of hits that really hit. Breaching topics like female empowerment, mental health, and identity and steeping them in relaxing, hypnotizing sounds enabled The Erly to create this standout album that’s finding its way onto our playlists one track at a time.Â
The Erly melds a mesmerizing mix of jazz-rock, disco, soul, roots-rock, and adult contemporary genres to give their audience a unique experience. Notes of nostalgia and innovative implementations carry the exceptional vocal prowess of the group, highlighting their musical talents in an irresistibly appealing way.
The group took time to illustrate their messages with an impactful sound while providing them with an enticingly emotional lyrical punch. They had fun in the process of creating the EP, delving deeply into some elements while recording the lead vocals for the intoxicating track Flame The MainÂ
and What To Do With You in one take each. Not to mention, The Right Way was a track written spontaneously during downtime. They let the creative process take hold and followed it where it led, even when alcohol and other more fun forms of inspiration called. Drawing from the inspirational sources of at least 30 artists, they took 2022 and put in the work to create the warm, vintage touch the music industry needs.Â
Alyssa (keys), Collin (bass), Trevor (guitar), and Fran (drums), took to Dr. Richard’s Audio in Valparaiso, Indiana to create the sound. The addition of horn and string arrangements arranged by Harris Karlin and Brian Moore deepened the sound. Collaborations with horn and string players from eight different cities brought even more authentic talent to the table, actualizing the band’s conviction that every instrument and sound on the album be produced by a human being.Â
The Erly is bringing the 70s back and redefining the flavor for our modern era. If you want to be encapsulated in the vibe, it’s understandable why. The soothing, eclectic, exciting, and alluring sounds envelop the listener to take them away for a meaningfully musical car ride, evening, or outing. If you’re looking for a sound you haven’t heard before, get ready for this album release – it won’t leave you lacking.Â
Deep themes are laced throughout the album. The tracks Flame The Main and Faces in the Attic the nerves of resentment, addiction, and avoidance coping. Take it As it Goes and Tracing Circles explore ambitious sentiments, while Paralyzed and Somewhere in My Mind dive into soulful sounds. The Right Way and Red Roof Inn elicit emotional responses with rhythms that make you want to hit repeat.Â
The Erly is taking disco into the new era with their sumptuous sounds in the new album, Culture Fever. Keep an eye (and ear) out for its release on November 3rd, 2023. We’re personally looking forward to this and future releases from this extraordinary band, as well as the way its sounds enhance your quality of life one listen at a time.
