Newport Beach, California is set to sparkle brighter than ever this summer as it gears up for the 24th Annual Eric Marienthal and Friends Concert. Slated for Sunday, July 16, 2023, the event has an extraordinary purpose – to raise funds for the High Hopes Head Injury Program, a non-profit organization committed to aiding individuals in their recovery from traumatic brain injuries.Â
The High Hopes Brain Injury Program, established in 1975, has spent nearly half a century devoted to the noble cause of rehabilitating and retraining those affected by brain injuries. In a significant announcement, the organization has revealed that Grammy winner Lee Ritenour will be the star performer at the annual fundraiser, held at the illustrious Hyatt Regency Newport Beach.Â
The Eric Marienthal and Friends Concert has played a pivotal role in supporting the High Hopes Brain Injury Program for over two decades. The brainchild of Mark Desmond, the Director and Instructor of the program, the event has been instrumental in funding and raising awareness for the cause. With the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach generously offering its magnificent venue for the concert, the stage is set for an unforgettable evening.Â
Before the musical night commences, VIP guests will be hosted by the Tulsa Rib Company for an exclusive dinner. The dining experience includes a variety of delicacies, a hosted bar, and live entertainment by the Ron Kobayashi Trio, with singer and songwriter Mary Desmond making a special appearance. The Master of Ceremonies duties for the evening will be shared by Sirius XM Radio host Talaya Trigueros and Mark Desmond.Â
As the VIP dinner concludes, guests will transition to the Hyatt’s outdoor amphitheater, where the main concert is to be held. In addition to the inspiring music, a selection of gourmet finger foods will be available, enhancing the enjoyment of the evening. To add an element of thrill, a silent and live auction will be conducted.Â
Ticket prices have been set at $150 for VIPs and $75 for General Admission, with purchasing options available through the High Hopes website or via phone. The VIP Party begins at 3:45 pm, with general admission doors opening at 5:00 pm and the music set to start at 5:30 pm.Â
There’s also room for more sponsors to join the noble cause. Current sponsors include notable organizations and businesses such as H&H Lee Foundation, Xerox, Millie and Severson General Contractors, Stirling Properties, Carolyn & James Reed, The Keith Family Fund at California Community Foundation, The Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, Smooth Jazz News, Sunwest Bank, and 94.7 The Wave.Â
The High Hopes Brain Injury Program offers a unique approach to rehabilitation. Besides physical programs such as conditioning classes, therapeutic swimming, and nautilus weight training, it includes services focusing on cognitive and social challenges. Its comprehensive rehabilitation activities extend to vocational art classes, pre-vocational training, music classes, community activities, independent living classes, occupational therapy, and speech therapy.Â
This year’s Eric Marienthal and Friends Concert, featuring the remarkable talent of Lee Ritenour, is more than just a melodic evening. It’s a platform to generate significant change in the lives of individuals dealing with the consequences of brain injuries. A harmonious confluence of music and charity, this event encapsulates the essence of compassion, resilience, and hope.Â
