Born LaVeatra Hood, the Seattle native started her music career in 2016 and introduced her personal brand, ElleXentric. Then in 2019, she released her first single titled, “My Time”, and just last year, she released another exciting single, which she called, “Without A Doubt”. Building her personal brand as a music artist inspired her to remember her mother, a hardworking woman who maintained several jobs to put food on the table and a roof over her head. As a career woman, ElleXentric found herself needing to alter her appearance in order to fit in and adapt to the corporate culture. She, however, felt like she was curtailing her self-expression and robbing herself of the freedom to be able to look however she wants to. Being a music artist allowed her the liberty to just be herself, express her artistry in whatever way she felt like doing it, and gave her the confidence to put herself out there without fear of being scrutinized for her looks and the color of her skin.
As a rising music artist, ElleXentric dreams of one day taking center stage at one of Coachella’s events. Next to this, is being able to perform on a world stage, travel across the globe, and introduce her music to different cultures. As a confident woman in pursuit of her dreams, she wants others to know that there is joy and fulfillment in doing it.
