Chi Oriji Welcomes 2021 as the CEO in His Newly-Launched Independent Label, Orijinal Music Group

Known for being one of the most sought-after DJs and the founder of the largest African-Caribbean Indoor Festival AFROFEST TOUR, Chi Oriji is undeniably a force to be reckoned with in the music industry. As the list of his accomplishments as an entrepreneur continues to increase, he adds yet another milestone as he welcomes the new year with the launch of his new independent label, Orijinal Music Group. Today, he hopes to make a difference in the lives of many aspiring musicians looking for a platform where their talents can be seen and their voices can be heard.

Chiemelam Oriji, better known as DJ Chi Oriji, is a serial entrepreneur, DJ, and music maven making enormous strides in the music arena. He first started his career as a disc jockey back in 2013. Today, he is now one of the most sought after DJs with a long list of accomplishments, including being the headliner DJ for festivals such as the Austin City Limits Festival and the Festivent de Levis in Quebec, Canada. He is also the founder of AFROFEST TOUR, the largest African-Caribbean indoor festival that has toured around the United States.

In 2017, Chi Oriji and his brother, Ebube Oriji, founded what is now known as the Orijinal Music Group (OMG). The music label set to be officially launched this 2021 marks yet another venture for Chi as he explores artist management, music producing, music engineering, and global event planning. Before establishing a music label, Chi has worked with famous artists, opening up shows for Sean Paul, Meg Thee Stallion, Burna Boy, Afro B, Davido, DJ Tunez, and more.

Leading the OMG powerhouse, Chi Oriji has guided aspiring artists in their musical endeavors in the last few years. Together, they have landed several accomplishments, with the most recent one being a 2020 Grammy nomination for Che, a Trap&B artist, his songwriting ability on Maxi Priest’s album “It All Comes Back to Love.”

Orijinal Music Group seeks to empower artists to “take control of their art” by equipping these talented creatives with the knowledge and resources necessary to master the industry’s ins and outs. In essence, the music label is helping musicians master their craft and become their own bosses.

At present, DJ Chi Oriji is quickly gaining national and global attention for his endeavors in the music industry, especially with the upcoming official launch of his independent music label. For this renowned DJ, Orijinal Music Group goes beyond providing a platform where artists can produce music. More than being an independent music label, OMG is a home where artists can grow and bring their talents to the next level. “There is so much talent out there but enough companies who are looking out for the best interests of their artists,” Chi shares. He continues to say, “I believe in being as transparent as possible with anyone I work with. I want the people I work with to know exactly how much work it takes to become successful in the music industry. These principles motivated me to create a culture for growth not only as an artist but as a human being.”
