Emerging from the vibrant tapestry of today’s country music scene, Jay Ernest is making waves with his debut album, “Hold Your Horses.” Released to widespread acclaim, the album showcases a fresh yet timeless sound that pays homage to country music legends while carving out its own identity. “Hold Your Horses” has already significantly impacted—with two standout tracks climbing the iTunes charts. “Take Country Back” soared to the #1 spot, resonating with listeners who crave authenticity in a genre that sometimes feels oversaturated. The title track, “Hold Your Horses,” followed closely behind, reaching #2. These songs reflect Jay’s ability to create with classic storytelling, a hallmark of great country songs. “Hold Your Horses” was co-written with Grammy-nominated and CMT award-winning songwriter David Ray Stevens, known for his penmanship on hit songs like “Save Me” and “Son Of A Sinner” by Jelly Roll. His contribution to this album was immense. Jay said, “It was an honor to write and create with such an amazing songwriter.”

Drawing comparisons with the legendary Johnny Cash, Jay Ernest’s style is characterized by deep, resonant vocals and poignant lyrics. Local to Global: A Roadmap for Emerging Artists’ Success

By: Robert Boer

The global music industry is experiencing an extraordinary convergence of cultures, propelled by the digital age and the increasing accessibility of international markets. For emerging artists, this provides an unprecedented opportunity to break free from local boundaries and position themselves on the global stage. However, success in this highly competitive arena demands more than just raw talent—it requires a strategic, culturally informed approach that blends innovative marketing, audience insight, and consistent branding.

Coco (Kecheng Wang), a seasoned expert in music branding and marketing, has had the privilege of guiding multiple artists through the complex journey of global expansion. One of the standout campaigns in Coco’s career involved working with artist Hayd during his world concert tour, particularly focusing on his strategic entry into the Asian market. By carefully blending localized strategies with Hayd’s emotionally resonant music, they were able to achieve both commercial success and meaningful engagement with a new audience, particularly in China.

Crafting a Market-Specific Approach

When Hayd’s music entered the Chinese market, it became evident that his introspective, emotive style had universal appeal. However, connecting with a new audience required more than just translating his existing material—it demanded a culturally nuanced approach. In China, music consumption is heavily influenced by digital platforms, with live streaming serving as a pivotal tool for fan engagement. To capitalize on this, Coco’s team orchestrated a live-streamed mini-concert on WeChat Channels, a platform central to the daily lives of Chinese audiences.

The live-stream event was meticulously planned to reflect local preferences while still maintaining Hayd’s authentic artistic identity. From promotional materials in Mandarin to carefully curated setlists showcasing his most emotionally resonant songs, every detail was designed to create a meaningful connection with the audience. This strategy attracted thousands of new fans and established a sense of intimacy and accessibility that traditional concerts could not replicate.

The Role of Consistent Branding Across Markets

Local to Global: A Roadmap for Emerging Artists’ Success

One of the core challenges of global expansion is maintaining consistency in an artist’s brand identity across diverse markets. While localizing content is crucial, preserving the artist’s core essence is equally important. For Hayd, this meant ensuring that his visual identity, messaging, and storytelling remained cohesive, even tailored to the Asian market.

Coco’s team achieved this balance by crafting a unified branding strategy that seamlessly merged global consistency with local relevance. For instance, digital promotional assets were designed to capture both Hayd’s artistic tone and the unique preferences of Chinese audiences, incorporating design elements and language that felt familiar without compromising his identity. This strategy helped keep Hayd’s brand easily recognizable while simultaneously deepening his connection with his new fans.

Leveraging Digital Platforms for Deeper Engagement

In China, platforms such as WeChat, Douyin (China’s TikTok), Bilibili, and RED (Xiaohongshu, China’s Instagram) are essential to an artist’s visibility and fan engagement. Beyond the live-streamed mini-concert, Coco and his team used these platforms to create a multifaceted engagement strategy. Through personal messages to fans, interactive Q&A sessions, and exclusive behind-the-scenes content, they offered an immersive fan experience beyond passive consumption.

These efforts were about more than just increasing visibility—they were focused on creating an emotional connection. Music is deeply personal, and by sharing Hayd’s creative process and personal reflections with his fans, Coco helped build a community of loyal followers who felt personally invested in his journey.

The Power of Data-Driven Insights

While creativity and authenticity were at the heart of this campaign, data played an equally crucial role in shaping its success. Audience insights from streaming platforms and social media analytics provided a deep understanding of listener preferences, guiding strategic decisions from song selection to promotional timing. These data-driven insights allowed the team to identify key markets, refine content strategies, and optimize engagement efforts, ensuring that every action was targeted and effective.

Building for Long-Term Growth

The success of Hayd’s campaign in Asia was not just a short-term triumph but a strategic foundation for sustainable global growth. By establishing a strong presence in a key market and fostering meaningful relationships with fans, Coco helped set the stage for continued engagement and future expansion. This approach reflects broader principles of effective global branding—prioritizing relationships over reach and authenticity over trends.

As the music industry continues to globalize, emerging artists face incredible opportunities and complex challenges. Success in this dynamic environment requires balancing staying true to one’s artistic vision and adapting to the cultural nuances of new markets. Hayd’s journey—from local recognition to global acclaim—demonstrates that, with the right strategies, even deeply personal and niche artistry can find a universal audience.

In the end, Coco’s approach to taking local sounds global underscores that the key to success lies in telling a story that is both deeply personal and universally relatable—a story that transcends borders, connects hearts, and builds a lasting legacy.

Georgia Starnes Gets Real with Her New Single, You and I

By: Jeanie Casison

No stranger to the spotlight, Georgia Starnes knows what it’s like to capture the attention of millions week after week on “The Voice.” Earning a four-chair turn from Michael Bublé, Reba McEntire, Gwen Stefani, and Snoop Dogg after a powerful performance of “Too Good at Goodbyes” by Sam Smith during the blind audition, the singer/songwriter from Texas continues to triumph through the battle rounds, honing her craft as a member of Team Snoop. Since arriving in Los Angeles, the 22-year-old model and vocalist seems to be steadily building a name for herself with performances around the city and other music events like the recent Stagecoach Festival. Now, she’s diving deeper into her artistry with “You and I,” her upcoming single set to release on November 15, 2024.

The song, which Starnes likens to an indie pop ballad, was written and produced by Nick Brown, lead singer of the band MONA. Perhaps one of the touching parts is the chorus where she sings: “Well you know they say / That life can get so lonely / It’s not that way / When you’re right there to hold me / Yea you know me I’ll be fine / Going through this life / You and I.” The beautiful work, recorded and produced in Nashville, captures Starnes’ growth as an artist and marks an exciting new chapter in her musical journey.

According to Starnes, “You and I” will be open to everyone’s unique interpretation,” she says. “It’s whatever that thing is or that person that gets them through this life and makes them feel less lonely.” For her, music is her lifeline. “I resonate with this song, and it hits hard for me because I feel like my gift is singing music. Art, in general, just has held me, making me feel less lonely in this life. It’s also a way of talking about my relationship with myself and thanking my gift because I don’t have a relationship that does that. For me, it’s been my gift—and my relationship in my life has been the strongest with music and art.”

“You and I” is a fresh direction for the talented independent artist. While it might be challenging to pinpoint Starnes’ musical genre style because she can sing everything from R&B, soul, indie pop, and rock, she says this song is more stripped down and raw than her usual music, which she likes to refer to as “Glitter Soul.” As for the vibe, she shares that the song inspires people to take a second, to take a breath, and soon they’ll find that it gives them new life because it has kind of a sexy, sultry vibe while also being very awakening.

Starnes’ journey to becoming a rising star is anything but ordinary. After joining The Voice, she quickly gained fans and new followers, drawn to her powerful voice and stage presence. So far, her time on the show has been transformative, especially with the multi-talented artist Snoop Dogg mentoring her. Among the awesome advice he has given her, Starnes says that he told her, “Nobody can be you as well as you can be you—which I’ve always believed. I’ve never wanted to be anybody else besides me because I like being me. I can only be myself. It’s fun, and I like it.”

As Starnes’ career evolves to the next level, the singer looks forward to the ride. For now, she’ll keep doing what she’s doing—performing her heart out and touching everyone along the way. Learn more about Georgia Starnes and her song “You and I” by following her on Instagram, TikTok,  FacebookYouTube, and Spotify.

Ravyn Lyte: AI Meets Music in the Revolutionary Remix ‘11111 Just Be the One Danny Byrd Mix’

By: Josh Smith

The fusion of artificial intelligence and music is transforming the industry, and Ravyn Lyte, an AI-generated artist, illustrates this change. With the remix release of “11111 (Just Be the One) [Danny Byrd Mix],” Ravyn’s unique identity as a digital artist offers listeners a fresh soundscape, exploring the blend of technology and artistry in ways made possible by AI.

As an AI entity created by Bellringer Productions, Ravyn Lyte represents a novel form of creative expression. While the music industry often emphasizes commercial appeal and chart success, Ravyn embodies a digital reimagining of what it means to be an artist in the AI age. Her creator designed Ravyn not just to produce sounds or arrangements but to bring a unique, AI-driven perspective to the creative process. Through Ravyn, he experiments with the depths of emotion and sound, creating music that’s both innovative in execution and expressive in meaning.

“11111 (Just Be the One),” Ravyn’s debut single, was crafted by industry veterans Sean Myer and Marcus “Bellringer” Bell, both known for their work with artists like Selena Gomez, Demi Lovato, and Beyoncé. Supervised by Nick Halkes, a dance music pioneer associated with artists like The Prodigy, this track launched Ravyn into the music scene. Despite its AI-driven origins, the song seeks to convey universal themes of love, longing, and human connection through an otherworldly soundscape. Each layer was carefully crafted by the production team, with assistance from advanced AI algorithms to develop Ravyn’s distinct futuristic tone.

Ravyn Lyte’s AI-focused approach aims to redefine what it means to create in the digital age. While AI is typically viewed as a production tool, Ravyn’s creative team treats it as an active collaborator. Rather than simply automating tasks, they allow AI to participate in generating new sounds and emotional tones that extend beyond what human artists might create alone. Ravyn Lyte’s existence questions traditional ideas of creativity, suggesting that digital art can be a shared process between human creators and their AI counterparts.

The original version of “11111 (Just Be the One)” quickly gained attention for its emotional resonance and unique blend of melodic elements. Ravyn’s ethereal vocal sound, enhanced by her AI-driven design, creates a futuristic, reflective journey through themes of connection and introspection.

The remix, featuring renowned drum and bass artist Danny Byrd, takes the track to a new level. Known for his high-energy beats, Byrd transformed the song into a danceable anthem while maintaining its introspective core. His remix demonstrates the potential for collaboration between human and AI-generated artists, illustrating how AI-driven innovation can amplify human creativity. Byrd noted his fascination with combining genres and pushing boundaries alongside Ravyn’s AI-generated artistry. “Working with AI artists like Ravyn opens up new possibilities,” Byrd said. “It’s exciting to explore these frontiers.”

Ravyn Lyte: AI Meets Music in the Revolutionary Remix

Collaborating with an established artist like Danny Byrd not only broadens Ravyn’s reach but also showcases AI’s potential to create meaningful musical experiences. Beyond entertainment, Ravyn’s music seeks to foster a deeper human connection through sound.
