Cardi B has just released her newest single, “Hot Shit,” featuring Kanye West and Lil Durk. Tay Keith also produced the song.
The rapper told Zane Lowe that it’s “a little bit older than ‘WAP'” and was supposed to be recorded in 2019. She talked about West’s part of the track’s making in the past.
“Kanye gave me this verse a couple of months ago when he was just all over the media because all of the things that were going on, and I like how his verse it’s personal, but it’s not that personal. It’s enjoyable in the clubs that you could be like, ‘Yeah, yeah. You talk your big cash,'” Cardi said.
“I really love it. And I’m so happy that he gave me this verse, and I had a lot of conversations with Kanye West. I learned so much about him, and he’s such an amazing, sweet person. I’ve been feeling like; I wish a lot of people have conversations with him so they could just see the real him.”

She added that she had another song ready to drop, “and right after that, I really just want to put that album together.”
The single’s release is the first Cardi song as a solo artist since 2021’s “Bet It.” After that song, Cardi collaborated with Summer Walker and SZA for their extended version of “No Love,” which also had a music video.
Cardi also teamed up with Bronx rappers Kay Flock and Dougie B this spring for “Shake It.”
Cardi has also worked with Lizzo in “Rumors,” Normani in “Wild Side,” Migos in “Type Shit,” and Summer Walker in “Bitter” in 2021. That same year, Cardi had the chance to play “Up” and WAP” on the stage of the Grammy Awards.
