Brian Maurice Brown Providing Support and Anchor to Talents through BMB Entertainment

Seeing talents struggle to create or reach the limelight is one thing Brian Maurice Brown hates to see. He understands what it means to be underground and has taken bold steps to mitigate that problem for as many artists as possible. He’s an entrepreneur, best-selling author, angel investor, and an all-around passionate entertainment enthusiast. His passion for changing the world fuels his drive for every project he takes on. Over the years, he has invested his time, effort, and resources into helping thriving careers get to the fore and re-establishing old artists’ careers through his record company, BMB Records. Maurice Brown has partnered with streaming company Omnis Player to invest in short films, which lends further credence to his love for entertainment and for pushing boundaries.

Born in Detroit, Maurice Brown studied business administration before he took up the music business. Since his journey as a music entrepreneur began, he has worked with notable artists like Ashley Newman, Brooklyn Queen, Charlie Baltimore and Trick Trick. He has also worked with producers such as Jupyter, Dre Butterz, Antt Beatz, D-Digital, and Vincent Berry Il. Maurice Brown actively got on the journey of sweeping through the entertainment industry and working with the best of the best to achieve the best results musically and business-wise.

Maurice Brown takes the art seriously and works hard to balance artistry with business. He advises artists to keep sharing content so they can be well-positioned if opportunities arise.

“My work ethic is to never stop creating, thinking, and doing something to make every situation better,” he said.

His book, Living for the Sacrifice: A Hood Hero’s Guide to Success, which he co-authored, has been a life-changing book for many people. Brian shares some deeply personal stories on overcoming demons and doubt to achieve professional and personal fulfillment. His stint in prison also played a major role in shaping his outlook on life.

“After being incarcerated, I created my impact on the world and have helped make other people successful through consistency, dedication, discipline, and sacrifice while creating life,” he said.

Beyond catering to musical artists and talents, he’s involved in countless charitable projects that have him providing coats for kids, food, and blankets for the homeless and taking part in city philanthropy drives. All these earned him the Spirit of Detroit Award for his outstanding services to the citizens of Detroit. Maurice Brown has set himself on a course to create an enabling environment for people in their personal lives and businesses. He sees BMB Entertainment as a family-oriented company with a heartbeat that creates a life and structure for everyone affiliated with the company.

In his words, “For me to be able to do any kind of business, I need to feel that connection, that feeling for me to commit. We care for the people that we work with, our artists, our projects. We want them to succeed, and we care about our artists’ welfare as much as their goal for global success.”

The motivation to start his company was inspired by a meeting with Charlie Watchmore. He watched her once, invested in her, and built a studio in her home within forty days. A few months later, she was nominated as MC of the Year at the BET Music Awards. This gave him the push to do the same for other artists by giving them the needed support to thrive. His goal in five years is to be a major music executive giving artists a shot at fame and supporting them on their respective journeys.
