The life of Thomas Fedrigotti, musically known as TOMiGOTTi, reveals a career marked by worldwide exposure, shifting focuses, and a return to creativity. Thomas Fedrigotti was born on September 20, 1977, in Bolzano (Bozen), the capital of South Tyrol in northern Italy. He spent his childhood in Caldaro, a nearby town surrounded by vineyards and alpine landscapes.
Growing up in this bilingual region, where both German and Italian are widely spoken, exposed him to cultural diversity from an early age. Fedrigotti’s formal education began at High School Bolzano, where he studied from 1991 to 1996. After several years, he returned to education, concentrating on business and international management.
In 2007, he enrolled in a part-time diploma program for professionals at the Management Center Innsbruck (MCI) in Austria. This program, completed in 2011, emphasized marketing, international sales, and leadership development.
He also participated in an Integrated International Program at the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) in Manila, Philippines, where he studied aspects of cross-cultural management and global business practices.
Building on this experience, Fedrigotti earned his Master’s degree in International Marketing & Sales at the Vorarlberg University of Applied Sciences in Austria. Starting in October 2011, the part-time program offered courses in consulting, sustainability management, and system-oriented leadership.
An international study module at BIMTECH (Birla Institute of Management Technology) in Greater Noida, India, gave him exposure to multiple business contexts. He completed the program in February 2012.
In the early 1990s, during a period when electronic dance music was flourishing in Italy, he developed an interest in DJ culture. At the age of 13, he began performing at local clubs and events under the stage name “DJ Tom.”
His career expanded as he joined the Italian Association of Professional DJs (AID), which recognized him within the national DJ community. He appeared as a special guest at dance events and nightlife venues across northern Italy. His music embodied the high-energy sound of the era, blending Eurodance and house influences prevalent in European clubs.
By his twenties, he shifted his focus toward academic and professional development. At the age of 20, he relocated to Bressanone, and by the age of 30, he had settled in Innsbruck, Austria, where he continues to reside. His professional and academic activities during these years developed his connection to international contexts.
His experiences in the Philippines and India, combined with his Austrian academic background, show how he crossed geographic, cultural, and professional boundaries.
After more than 20 years away from the music scene, Fedrigotti returned in his forties under the name TOMiGOTTi. This new phase focused on music production. Influenced by international figures such as Kygo, Robin Schulz, and Avicii, his work highlights melodic and atmospheric qualities rather than the high-tempo club tracks of his youth.
To support this transformation, he studied at the Deutsche Pop Academy, gaining technical expertise in digital audio workstations, sound engineering, and production methods. This training allowed him to adapt to contemporary electronic music production, which had evolved significantly since his first experiences as DJ Tom.
TOMiGOTTi’s return to music has been recognized through the International Songwriting Competition (ISC), an annual event attracting entries from artists worldwide, where he has been selected as a semi-finalist three times. Aside from music and business, he has interests in golf, attending the cinema, and engaging in nightlife culture as a participant rather than a performer.
The international journey of Thomas Fedrigotti vividly portrays how movement across borders—educational, cultural, and professional—can profoundly shape personal development and identity. From his humble beginnings in South Tyrol to his diverse studies in Austria, the Philippines, and India, he gradually formed a perspective that reaches far beyond local borders.
