Filmmaker Rajamouli Announces ‘RRR’ Follow-up

The sequel to the Indian action movie is coming.

Director SS Rajamouli has announced that he is now working on a sequel to the film. Screenwriter V. Vijayendra Prasad, the director’s father, is working on the script.

“My father is the story writer for all my films. We discussed a bit about [the sequel]. And he’s working on the story,” Rajamouli revealed.

The film is one of the highest budgeted films in India with a gross cost of $72 million. Moreover, since the opening in March, it has been a great success.

RRR focuses on the journey of real Indian freedom fighters Komaram Bheem and Alluri Sitarama Raju. It is set in the 1920s with N.T. Rama Rao Jr. and Ram Charan as the main cast.

The historical novel focuses on the friendship and fight between the two against British imperialists. In addition, the epic is noted for its action scenes and elaborate battle choreography.

Since its release, it has been considered the most popular film on Netflix. Furthermore, people played it over 47 million hours with 15 subtitles. It’s also the first time a non-English language film has trended for the 10th consecutive week.

Moreover, the director shared his amazement that the movie drew in a huge fanbase all over the world.

“Yes, I was surprised with the reception from the West,” he stated.

“A good story is a good story for everyone. But I didn’t think I could make films for Western sensibilities. I never believed myself. So, when it came out on Netflix and people started watching it, and word of mouth started spreading, when the critics started giving out good reviews, yes, I was really, really surprised.”

RRR is currently India’s second-highest-grossing film. In addition, it is a smash hit at the global box office. It had earned almost 89% of its $100 million global sales from international theaters.

RRR Detail

Rajamouli encountered the tale of the journey of Rama Raju and Bheem, connecting the events between them. He imagined what would happen if they had met and become dear friends. The production formally announced RRR in March 2018.

In November 2018, the film’s principal photography started through August 2021. Unfortunately, it was delayed due to the pandemic.

Moreover, the movie was primarily filmed in India, with some scenes in Ukraine and Bulgaria. M.M. Keeravani composed its soundtrack and background music.

Meanwhile, K.K. Senthil Kumar served as cinematographer and A. Sreekar Prasad as editor.

Jeremy Strong Shares the Time MCU Almost Cast Him

Jeremy Strong was one step into the Marvel Cinematic Universe ride—or at least his body almost got in.

The actor is famous for cursing as Kendal Roy on the HBO series Succession. However, in a recent interview with The Times UK, Strong shared that he was tapped for a specific role in 2011’s Captain America: The First Avenger.

In particular, he was tasked with portraying the body double of Chris Evans – the lean, youthful era of Steve Rogers. This was before his transformation into a star-studded superhero soldier.

“They needed someone to play Captain America’s young body before he turns into a superhero,” Strong shared with The Times. “They said they needed a transformational actor and would use CGI to put the actual actor’s face and voice over my own.”

“I was broke,” he continued. “I needed money. And I considered it. But that’s my story of LA. It was just never going to happen for me here. It didn’t feel like what I had to offer was valued.”

A Strong Fate

As it happens, Strong grew up with Evans. Evans later played Captain America in over ten films. They both grew up in Sudbury, Massachusetts. Additionally, they were exposed to local theater as children.

When The Times tapped Evans to query if he had any idea Strong was considered to be his body double, Evans allegedly gasped, saying, “Oh no!” Ultimately, he said he didn’t know.

In previous interviews and media interactions, Evans has talked about how much he adored Strong as a child. The two even portrayed roles together in an early production of A Midsummer Night’s Dream. (Strong starred as Bottom while Evans as Demetrius.)

In an interview with The Times, Evans stated that he was often shocked by the time it took Strong to become a star.

“It just goes to show the industry is so unpredictable,” Evans stated. “But I’m so happy things worked out because I don’t think there was ever plan B for Jeremy.”

Strong stars in Armageddon Time, with Anne Hathaway and Anthony Hopkins.

The actor’s first performance away from Broadway was in John Patrick Shanley’s Defiance in 2006. Later, he debuted on Broadway as Richard Rich in the 2008 reboot of A Man for All Seasons. In addition to that, he debuted in film in Humboldt County.

‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ Draws in $330 Million at the Global Box Office

Another blockbuster film for Ryan Coogler.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever debuted with $180 million at the national box office, according to Comscore. It’s the second-highest opening for 2022, right behind another Marvel masterpiece, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The latter opened in May with a $185 million blockbuster.

Overall, the sequel grossed $330 million at the international box office. Meanwhile, the first installment previously broke box office records in 2018, earning $218 million over the weekend.

As a result, it became the highest-grossing superhero film in the US Worldwide. Additionally, it made a gross profit of $1.3 billion.

Wakanda Forever brings most of the original crew and cast with it. Lupita Nyong’o, Letitia Wright, Danai Gurira and Angela Bassett reprise their roles. The film tells of the Wakandans after the death of King T’Challa (late Chadwick Boseman).

It also introduces a new character, Namor (Tenoch Huerta), from the mythical underwater kingdom of Atlantis. The sequel comes in honor of Boseman, who died of colon cancer in 2020. He was 43.

Wakanda Forever Treasures Boseman

But Wakanda Forever didn’t recast Boseman. Another character has the Black Panther cape instead.

“It’s my job as a filmmaker to do things that I have personal integrity with,” Coogler said in an interview with EW about paying tribute to the late actor’s legacy.

“If I don’t believe in what I’m doing, I’m going to have a hard time getting other people to do their best work. For them to do their best work, they have to believe in it. At the end of the day, the choices we make have to feel truthful to me.”

He added: “When filmmakers make things that don’t feel truthful to them, you can feel it.”

“And I will argue that those projects don’t have a shot at working.”

Meanwhile, Black Adam remained at the top of the box office for four consecutive weeks in second place. It’s earning an extra $8.6 million. Another week took the superhero film’s total to $151 million.

In third place is Ticket to Paradise, drawing in an additional $6.1 million. Lyle, Lyle, Crocodile and Smile completed the top 5. The former earned an extra $3.2 million while the latter $2.3.

Film Success

Black Panther is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. Furthermore, it is the 18th movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The film follows T’Challa taking over the kingdom of Wakanda after his father’s death. However, Killmonger (Jordan) challenges him. The Killmonger wants to leave the country’s isolation policies behind and start a revolution.

In 1992, Wesley Snipes wanted to produce a Black Panther movie. However, the project did not pull through. And in September 2005, Marvels Studios added a Black Panther film to the roster of ten movies inspired by Marvel characters.

The studio hired Mark Bailey to write a script in January 2011. And in 2014, Black Panther was finally announced. Boseman then appeared as the character in 2016’s Captain America: Civil War

Additionally, the film marks the first time Marvel Studios installed a Black director and a Black cast.

Chris Hemsworth Finds Sobering Health Revelation during ‘Limitless’ Filming

Chris Hemsworth shares a look at a pivotal moment in his health documentary Limitless that almost didn’t make the final cut.

Hemsworth, also known as Thor, underwent a series of physical exams and screenings while filming the show for National Geographic. The series follows him joining forces with scientists and medical professionals.

Additionally, these episodes aim to reduce stress, improve performance and slow the aging process.

During Episode 5, doctors determined through Hemsworth’s blood tests that he had two copies of the APOE4 gene. This makes him genetically predisposed to Alzheimer’s disease.

“I was offered a version of the episode where we didn’t talk about it. And for the exact reason you are mentioning now, I thought, ‘No, look, if this is a motivator for people to take better care of themselves and also understand that there are steps you can take – then fantastic,” Hemsworth stated.

“My concern was I just didn’t want to manipulate it and overdramatize it. And make it into some sort of hokey grab at empathy or whatever for entertainment.”

According to Hemsworth, the original plan for the episode was for his test results to be revealed on camera. But they didn’t go through with the plan due to what they found.

“Peter Attia, who is the longevity doctor in that episode, and overseeing a lot of the show, called [show creator] Darren [Aronofsky] and said, ‘I don’t want to tell him this on camera. We need to have an off-side conversation. And see if he even wants this to be in the show,’” Hemsworth stated.

“It was pretty shocking because he called me up, and he told me.”

Likely Happen

While not a firm diagnosis, the gene suggests that Hemsworth may be “eight to ten times” more likely to develop Alzheimer’s disease in the future.

“The show, which initially was an exploration of longevity and, of course, should be fun, became even more relevant and important for me. Even more poignant than I ever thought it would be,” he said.

“It was a really good catalyst to dive into everything I needed to be doing in either the prevention front or the management front or however you want to classify it. It’s not a pre-deterministic gene, but it is a strong indication.”

Although the diagnosis doesn’t come as a surprise for Hemsworth, it was still a quietening discovery. The actor’s grandfather is currently suffering from the disease.

“Most of us, we like to avoid speaking about death in the hope that we’ll somehow avoid it. We all have this belief that we’ll figure it out,” he stated.

“Then to all of a sudden be told some big indicators are actually pointing to this as the route which is going to happen. The reality of it sinks in. Your own mortality.”

What Hemsworth Found

In a September interview with EW, Hemsworth revealed that he’s found a newfound appreciation for the mental and physical beauty of the human body. This is due to his experience while filming Limitless.

“It was one extreme after another – a series of scientific experiments where I was the guinea pig,” he stated.

“I was just in awe of the individuals I was working with who did this day to day. But also, I gained a beautiful understanding and appreciation for how incredible the human body and mind is, and what potential we all have.”

Limitless is now available to watch on Disney+.

Lindsay Lohan’s ‘Falling for Christmas’ Pitch on ‘Mean Girls’ Dance Number

Falling for Christmas has been quite a sleigh ride for Lindsay Lohan. However, it wasn’t the right time for the Mean Girls star to redo her iconic “Jingle Bell Rock” musical performance from the 2004 teen comedy.

The 2000s child star shared that she initially suggested filming a scene commemorating the unforgettable presentation of the Mean Girls talent show. She gave the performance with Rachel McAdams, Lacey Chabert and Amanda Seyfried.

She ended up singing a cover of “Jingle Bell Rock” for the Netflix’s Falling for Christmas soundtrack.

“It was my brilliant idea to bring it up in a conversation with the directors and the producers. I was like, ‘Oh, wouldn’t it be fun if we did a blooper reel at the end and we all kind of did the Christmas scene from the talent show in Mean Girls?'” Lohan stated during an appearance on Friday’s Live with Kelly & Ryan episode.

“That was the first idea. Then I was like, ‘Let’s not actually do that,’ and then they said, ‘Oh, what about the song?'”

Falling for Christmas Pitch

Lohan explained the idea in The Tonight Show on Thursday. She said she didn’t want to “ruin” the iconic Mean Girls legacy, so she walked away from the idea.

“I shouldn’t have said it because it went straight to, ‘Oh, let’s recreate the Mean Girls talent show scene,'” she stated. “I was like, ‘Oh, no, no. You can’t touch Mean Girls! Sorry, you can’t do that.”

Finally, the 36-year-old actress sang a few “Jingle Bell Rock” lines in the film, including while driving with her fiancé. However, the blooper scene at the end of the credits did not provide a remake of the Mean Girls’ dance number.

In the film, Lohan portrays a spoiled hotel magnate’s daughter. Later, following an incident leading to amnesia, she develops feelings for a handsome lodge owner (Chord Overstreet) merely ahead of the holidays.

Falling for Christmas is now streaming on Netflix.

Journey from Child Star to Comeback

The feel-good movie icon was inked into Ford Models at a young age, three precisely. She made a limelight debut in 1998 in the Walt Disney Pictures movie The Parent Trap. In the film, she starred as twins attempting to get their parents back together.

The breakthrough gave Lohan more projects like 2000’s Life-Size and 2002’s Get a Clue. Furthermore, it earned her roles in massive productions such as 2003’s Freaky Friday and 2004’s Confessions of Teenage Drama Queen

Other movies that earned Lohan her spot in the Hollywood fame are the following:

Speak (2004)

Little More Personal (Raw) (2005

Herbie: Fully Loaded (2005)

Just My Luck (2006)

A Prairie Home Companion (2006)

Bobby (2006)

Chapter 27 (2007)

Eventually, her career began to flop after alleged misbehavior in the production of Georgie Rule in 2006. From there, headlines on her frequent court appearance, legal issues, and in-and-out in rehabilitation facilities.

She recently returned to the big screen with Falling for Christmas.

‘Harry Potter’ Actor Ralph Fiennes Wants to Play Voldemort Again

Ralph Fiennes has played several villains throughout his career. However, fans only remember one thing about him: He Who Must Not Be Named.

In an interview at the premiere of New York horror comedy The Menu, the actor said he would play Lord Voldemort again. This is the case when Warner Bros. or J.K. Rowling created another installment in the Harry Potter film series.

“No question about it,” Fiennes said in an interview with Variety.

Fiennes’ comments come after Warner Bros. Discovery executive David Zaslav revealed that he intends to do more Potter projects with Rowling. Recently, the author has been accused of her transphobic comments.

“We’re going to have a real focus on franchises,” Zaslav stated. “We haven’t had a Superman movie in 13 years. We haven’t done a Harry Potter movie in 15 years.”

According to Zaslav, DC’s movies and the Potter series have come a long way over the past few decades.

Controversial Comments

Despite Rowling’s controversy, Fiennes expressed support for the author. He also described the “verbal abuse” she received as “appalling.”

“J.K. Rowling has written these great books about empowerment, about young children finding themselves as human beings,” he shared with The New York Times. “It’s about how you become a better, stronger, more morally centered human being. The verbal abuse directed at her is disgusting; it’s appalling.”

He added: “I can understand a viewpoint that might be angry at what she says about women, but it’s not some obscene, uber-right-wing fascist.

“It’s just a woman saying, ‘I’m a woman, and I feel I’m a woman. And I want to be able to say that I’m a woman.’ And I understand where she’s coming from. Even though I’m not a woman.”

Previously, he also came in Rowling’s defense, dubbing the hatred for the Potter author “irrational.”

In 2020, many widely criticized Rowling when she posted a tweet about gender identity and biological sex. But, she said, “erasing the concept of sex removes the ability of many to meaningfully discuss their lives.”

GLAAD and many other LGBTQ+ organizations and allies said her remarks were inaccurate and cruel.

Moreover, Harry Potter actors Daniel Radcliffe and Emma Watson voiced their stand against Rowling. The two said transgender women are women.

Ultimately, he bagged the BAFTA Award for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.

Additionally, in 1996’s The English Patient role, Count Almasy earned him the second Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. It also brought nominations for BAFTA and Golden Globe.

Eddie Redmayne Talks ‘Fantastic Beasts’ Wand

Eddie Redmayne could have used a few wizarding lessons from Hogwarts before his wand experience in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

The actor plays magizoologist Newt Scamander in the Harry Potter spin-off film series.

Redmayne said he went through “complete stage fright” after bringing the character to life with his wand.

“When we started on the first Fantastic Beasts, there were things that were very stressful,” he said in an interview with Vanity Fair.

“Like, having a wand is like your childhood dream. But suddenly, you’re presented with this thing, and you get complete stage fright. I don’t have a clue what to do with it.”

Consequently, Redmayne revealed the “wand school was created” to show the cast members how to swish and flick with style. The 40-year-old actor stressed that he went to an “apparating school” to ensure his mastery of disappearing “into the mist” vibe that the teleportation incantation demanded.

What Redmayne Knows

Redmayne has slowly become accustomed to the wizarding world and beyond.

“You became very blasé about that stuff and about the kind of everydayness of having a wand,” he elaborated.

“But then, the joy of those films was getting to watch new actors come in. And be presented with their want and watching the inner kid just revealed itself, from everyone and anyone, however extraordinary the actor.”

Furthermore, Redmayne was enamored and impressed by his character, Newt.

“I love Newt. I loved him as a character from the second I read it. He was eccentric. [And] he was unique. He had extraordinary empathy. And he was passionate,” he revealed. “Passion is an interesting thing. It’s a thing that’s not often celebrated. It is quite often uncool to care.”

However, the actor said, no one cares more about the Fantastic Beasts universe than its cast and crew.

“I loved the trio of actors that I was cast with: Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, and the wonderful Katherine Waterson,” he stated. “It was an amazing thing to get to work with these guys and on a scale that was unlike anything I’d ever seen.”

He continued: “My main takeaway from those movies was just this wonderful group of actors and crew. Invention was just spilling out of them.”

Uncovering Fantastic Beasts

Fantastic Beasts is inspired by J.K. Rowling’s book of the same name. Warner Bros. is its distributor. In addition, David Yates – who served as the filmmaker of the Harry Potter series – directs the film series.

The three installments to the franchise are 2016’s Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, 2018’s The Crimes of Grindelwald, and 2022’s The Secrets of Dumbledore

In addition to Redmayne (Scamander), the film series stars Jude Law (Albus Dumbledore). Colin Farrell, Johnny Depp, and Mads Mikkelsen all portray the main villain Gellert Grindelwald.

Other cast members include Ezra Miller, Katherine Waterston, Alison Sudol, Dan Fogler, Victoria Yeates, Jessica Williams, Callum Turner, and Richard Coyle.

In this film series, revelations in the broader scope of the wizarding world, as well as about Dumbledore’s life, start to uncover. The Secrets of Dumbledore reveals that Grindelwald is, in fact, the future Headmaster’s lost love. Moreover, it chronicles the events of the First Wizarding War and the Second World War.

Andrew Garfield Shares Brotherhood with Fellow Spidey

Almost a year has passed since the release of Spider-Man: No Way Home. The film broke pandemic box office records and became the most renowned film in 2021.

However, in the latest interview, Andrew Garfield said there was a breezy feel to the film’s actual production. Actually, he said starring alongside Tobey Maguire and Tom Holland felt less like a superhero hit and more like shooting an experimental short film with his dear friends.

Garfield sat down with GQ UK for its Men of the Year release. There, he shared the “beautiful” memory of filming No Way Home with his fellow Spidey.

“I got to treat it like a short film about Spider-Man with buddies,” Garfield said in the interview with GQ.

“The pressure was off me. It was all on Tom’s shoulders. Like, it’s his trilogy. And me and Tobey were there to provide support and have as good a time as possible, actually, and be as inventive, imaginative, and kind of dumb as possible.”

The second Spidey continued that when he first discovered the prospect of No Way Home, he had doubts about how his version could fit into the trio.

“Y’know, between the three of us, I was like, ‘Oh, s—, this is going to be interesting,” Garfield elaborated.

“You have three people who feel real ownership over this character. But it was really, like, brotherhood first, I think. And I think that comes through in what we shot.”

Spidey Role

A decade has passed since Garfield swung the screen as Peter Parker in 2012’s The Amazing Spider-Man. Afterward, he reprised the role in 2014’s sequel. However, the studio ultimately pulled out a plan for a third film.

In the sit-down with GQ, Garfield revealed that he thought his Spidey time was on its end ahead of reading the No Way Home script.

“I don’t know if I had an expectation of doing more,” he stated. “I was very open to it being whatever it was meant to be. But there was an undone feeling. Like, ‘What was that experience about? And how do I close that circle in my living room on my own?’

“And I was doing that – and then it was like that classic thing when you’re getting over a relationship, and you’re first starting to really feel free and untethered from that thing – the person knows to call the hour after the first good night’s sleep you’ve had.”

No Way Home premiered in theaters in December 2021 and garnered an eye-popping $1.9 billion globally. Furthermore, it earned a title as the sixth all-time highest-grossing film.

Garfield Accolades

Garfield has bagged numerous accolades throughout his career until now. It includes a Tony Award, a BAFTA TV, and a Golden Globe Award.

Time even included the 39-year-old actor in its roster of 100 most influential people in the world in 2022.

Garfield – born in Los Angeles and raised in Epsom – started to embark on his journey when he trained at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama. His career began on the UK stage and in TV productions.

Furthermore, the actor had his feature film debut in Lions for Lambs (2007).

But he is most renowned for his role as Spidey.

Cardi B Mourns for Takeoff on Social Media

Cardi B honors the extraordinary talent of the recently deceased artist Takeoff.

The rapper posted on social media mourning the musician after the funeral on November 11. Cardi is married to Takeoff’s cousin, Offset.

An unidentified attacker shot Takeoff at a private party in Houston on November 1, killing him on the spot.

“Takeoff, your untimely passing has brought a great deal of pain and sorrow to so many lives,” Cardi B said.

“The impact you had in this world was so considerable. And we have struggled to grasp this tragedy. I am heartbroken, but I am grateful for all the precious memories we got to share while you were here with us.”

“Since we were kids, you been by my side lookin up at me, them eyes waiting on me to make the next move… Then you followed up right behind me. You always made sure I did it first so you can do it right with me. You never competed with me. We were always on the same team.”

Moreover, Quavo appreciated Takeoff’s passion for music and his roots, referring to him as an “angel” who “made our dreams come true” in his lifetime.

During the funeral on Friday in Atlanta, Justin Bieber and Drake performed in honor of the deceased. They were emotional on stage.
