Moving City, the dynamic five-piece band, is excited to announce the release of their latest EP, “SNACKS,” set to hit music platforms in early June. This marks the band’s fourth album in just three years, showcasing their dedication to producing high-quality music and pushing creative boundaries.
Originally formed in 2013 in a small shared apartment in Toronto, Moving City began as a creative outlet for founders Andrew Facciolo and Logan Shaw. Their passion for music quickly turned into a lifestyle, playing small shows and open mics throughout the city. After experiencing different parts of the world and some unexpected life events, the two reunited in Vancouver in 2020, joining forces with musician/producer Chris Johnson to record their debut album “2308.”
Following the release of their second album, “Little Dogs,” in 2021, Moving City continued to write new material and experiment with different sounds. Their latest work, the five-song EP “SNACKS,” showcases a more refined and polished rock sound, meticulously crafted to fit the dynamic of a full band.
The band’s lineup now includes Chris Johnson on guitar/bass, drummer Madison Norton from local band SEER, and bass player Jan Toren. Together, they have been building momentum and gaining exposure through performances in Vancouver, including multiple MRG showcases, The Shipyards Festival, and opening for international acts like Jon Bryant and Red Rum Club.
Moving City was also featured on Indie 88’s list of top 20 bands to see at NXNE 2022, out of over 300 artists, and has already received an invitation to return for NXNE 2023.
Fans can expect the first single from “SNACKS” to be released in late April, with the full EP following in early June. This highly anticipated release is set to solidify Moving City as a must-watch band on the rise. Stay tuned for more information and updates on their social media channels, and make sure to catch them live at upcoming shows and festivals.
