About Jacinto City School
We’re Jacinto City School and we have a vision: to provide all students with the best education to prepare them for success in life. We believe that every child deserves the opportunity to receive a high-quality education, and that every child can succeed with support.
We think it’s important for people who live in this community and for others who want to learn about our school, about us – about what we need from them – so they know how they can get involved. This information is provided on a blog created to let people know what we’re doing and how they can help.
As a school, our goal is to engage every child in a rigorous curriculum that includes meeting and exceeding the Common Core Standards along with enriching activities. We also have high expectations for academic achievement and character development. We require students to be responsible, respectful and exhibit good citizenship at all times. Our mission statement is:

Jacinto City School is a school that focuses on teaching the children in the community an education that gives them the skills they need to be successful in life. The teachers at Jacinto City School are dedicated to meeting the needs of students in order to help them reach their highest potential.
The Jacinto City School mission is to provide an educational experience that emphasizes academic excellence, civic participation and character development.
Jacinto City School has been in its current location since the spring of 2007 and has served the community since 1980 is a diverse community with a large population of Indian Americans and African Americans from both Houston Heights and South I-45 neighborhood. Jacinto City school accepts students from kindergarten through twelfth grade.
The School, where the children are our future, is a school that emphasizes the importance of self-esteem in children and parents. We believe that students can achieve success in life after their education at Jacinto City School.
Jacinto City has an active Parent Teachers Organization (PTOS). Where members meet and discuss ways to help students reach their highest potential through participating in extra-curricular activities.

Jacinto City School has been a part of the Houston community since the 1920s. Jacinto City School could not have been successful without the help of the Houston Heights community. The neighborhood has always been a supporter of this school. It is our obligation to continue to support them so that they can in start to be a part of our school as well.
The renovation of Jacinto City School began in October 2011 and will last until spring 2012. While they add new classrooms, bathrooms, playground equipment and areas for PE classes.
The school will also be adding an art room and a new band hall. The band hall will include a full-sized concert stage, light and sound systems and a state-of-the-art piano. As well as, cheerleading equipment for the cheerleaders.
Jacinto City School has offered its facilities to other community schools that are in need of classrooms. Jacinto City School does this because it is committed to helping other community schools by giving them space for their students. So that they are able to continue with their education.
