Blackpink’s ‘How You Like That’ Sweep Multiple Guinness World Records: The First K-Pop Group To Achieve This Milestone

Indeed, it is the greatest comeback of Blackpink to date. This week is historic and promising. Their most awaited comeback was rewarded as the Balckpink’s comeback single ‘How You Like That’ topped the swag of anybody in the music industry and gained multiple Guinness World Records.   

The South-Korean girl group’s music video for “How You Like That” received overwhelming Youtube views which earned 86.3 million views on its arrival June 26, sufficient and eligible enough to set bars and records for most viewed YouTube video in 24 hours, most viewed music video on YouTube in 24 hours, and most viewed YouTube music video in 24 hours by a K-pop group.

The music video pours pink and black, Trojan horses and Japanese kimono in modern style which compliments with their swag and jaw-dropping looks, complex and catchy choreography and powerful vocals. The south-Korean girl group had finally released their long-awaited comeback single with creative accompanying music video which is currently trending around the globe. 

The video finds Jennie, Lisa, Rosé and Jisoo seems to spread a message of resilience, empowerment and femme fatale while rocking a parade with artsy and expensive looks among  fake snow machines, lavish garden, black fashionable wings, Trojan horses, modernized Japanese costumes, burning umbrellas and many more visuals that will surely satisfy your eyes. 

Blinks (Blackpink’s official fandom) obviously unleashed all their adrenaline to support and push their idols to the way top and reach this kind of milestone. Indeed, it is a triumphant and nerve-wracking action for them. The girl group’s success is there success to, as many of them stated. And true enough, their undying love and support to the girl group is superb and which fandom can top of that, right?

Although this in not a great week for compatriots BTS and recently a fanwar erupted in social media. BTS, who were the dethroned and previous record holders in those categories with the video for “Boy With Luv” featuring singer Halsey, which was released in April 2019. “Boy With Luv” is now second to the lists from the categories swept by Blackpink.

Jisoo, Jennie, Rose and Lisa aren’t done swooping records as of the moment. The live premiere of ‘”How You Like That” had earned 1.66 million peak streamed viewers on the streaming video platform, busting new records for most viewers for the premiere of a video on YouTube, and most viewers for the premiere of a music video on YouTube.

Currently on Spotify, they are the reigning and already the holders of records for most followed female group and music group with the most subscribers on YouTube, dethroning One Direction, according to Guinness World Records. And true enough, Blackpink’s ‘How You Like That’ broke the coveted major YouTube records to date. In just five days, the music video has boosted to more than 170 million views.  

The song was written by Teddy and Danny Chung, “How You Like That” which greatly ended Blackpink’s one-year musical hiatus since 2019’s Kill This Love EP with 827 million plus views and the single reached No. 24 on the Billboard 200.

“How You Like That” is expected to be the lead single on Blackpink’s forthcoming debut studio album. Who’s exited?
