Singer/Songwriter Stephen Boyd Takes Us Back to Country Church

By: Pam Perry PR

The rich tapestry of gospel music vibrates with authenticity and spiritual fervor in the voice of Stephen Boyd, affectionately known as the “Professor of Praise.” With his latest single release, “Wonder in My Soul: Chronicles of My Country Church Vol. I,” Boyd invites listeners on a nostalgic journey back to the foundational sounds and stories of the black Pentecostal Church.

This single is not just a song; it’s a revival of the soul-stirring narratives that shaped generations. Born from Boyd’s experiences in a small, vibrant Pentecostal community, “Wonder in My Soul” is a powerful homage to the old mothers and deacons whose unwavering faith and spirited hymns laid a robust spiritual groundwork for many. As gospel music navigates its modern transformations, Boyd feels a strong calling to anchor it back to its roots.

“The song is imbued with elements of Jazz, blues, and New Orleans bump, wrapped within a profound theological context,” Boyd explains, aiming to reconnect today’s generation with the musical heritage of their ancestors.

Boyd’s journey through the world of music has been anything but easy. Promised opportunities vanished as quickly as they appeared, leading to a series of personal and professional setbacks. “I didn’t think I’d make it to almost 50,” he shares candidly. But it was through these trials that Boyd’s faith became his fortress. “Prayer and meditation taught me patience and trust in God’s timing,” he states, revealing that these spiritual practices have been crucial in overcoming life’s hurdles and maintaining his creative vision.

His distinctive approach to gospel music sets him apart in an industry crowded with contemporary interpretations. Boyd emphasizes simplicity and clarity in his message, much like the straightforward and heartfelt narratives found in country music, which he taught and adored during his time as a K-12 educator. This blend of great storytelling with compelling music is what Boyd believes makes a song truly memorable.

Boyd’s musical career is dotted with notable milestones, including features on platforms like Bobby Jones Presents, Sunday Sit Down with Aunt Gee, and America’s Hope with Kelley Wright, among others. His recognition as a teacher and his contributions to educational and spiritual discussions highlight his multifaceted career, blending education, music, and ministry seamlessly.

As he looks to the future, Boyd is optimistic and filled with grand plans. “In the next few years, I see myself traveling the world, speaking and performing at corporate events, churches, and schools,” he envisions. Additionally, Boyd aims to expand his coaching division and establish a TV and music production studio to create and distribute proprietary content, further solidifying his impact on the gospel music industry.

Boyd’s personal story and his contributions are also featured in the book, “Divine Blueprint” by Rich Parsons, where he discusses the inevitable “Detours, Delays, and Disappointments” that one encounters on the path to greatness. “Though each phase is painful, reaching your destiny makes it all worth it,” Boyd assures.

“Wonder in My Soul” is available across all digital outlets, and fans can look forward to “The Country Church Xperience Tour” slated for fall 2024. Through his music, teachings, and personal insights, Stephen Boyd continues to inspire and lead, bringing the essence of country church to the modern audience, fostering a deeper appreciation for the gospel’s roots and its timeless messages of faith, resilience, and unity.

As the “Professor of Praise,” Boyd’s mission transcends music—it’s about nurturing souls, one song at a time, reminding us all of the enduring power of faith and the profound legacy of the church community that raised him.

Nicole Denae Unveils Debut Album Exploring Faith and Healing

If worship is the offering of one’s life to God, then Nicole Denae’s voice is the musical instrument through which it is raised. Worship has been the single greatest passion of her heart since she was a young child. Nicole describes worship as a ‘lifestyle,’ and that phrase best describes the reality of her life.

Nicole Denae has been gifted with a fantastic voice that has been used to carry people into the presence of God on worship stages and church platforms across the Southeast. As a young girl singing in her church’s Youth Choir, it was clear that Nicole had something special. Her gift took her from being the youngest singer in the church choir to leading worship on stages that minister to thousands. In those early years, Nicole learned that worship is a privilege, not a performance.

Although Nicole was naturally gifted to sing and unusually anointed to lead others in worship, that did not diminish her desire to be formally trained in music and worship. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Music with a concentration in Vocal Performance from Clayton State University and a Master of Arts degree in Worship Studies from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. The evidence of her unique anointing and specialized training starts to shine each time she graces a stage to lead audiences into the presence of God.

Nicole Denae’s debut album, “Beautifully Broken, Victoriously Healed,” stands out in contemporary worship music for its genuine spiritual depth and healing message. Unlike many others in the genre that focus more on sweetness than substance, Nicole Denae’s album offers a heartfelt journey of faith through her melodic confessions and powerful lyrics. This album is not just music; it’s her life story turned into a worship experience meant to touch listeners’ souls.

Creating this album was a deep, thoughtful process for Nicole Denae, involving prayer and fasting. The songs reflect her personal experiences of deep brokenness and divine healing, encapsulated in her belief: “When you allow God to break you, only He can beautifully put you back together again into a beautiful masterpiece.”

Nicole Denae’s music resonates with many because it embraces vulnerability and universal themes of suffering and redemption. Her message is clear: one’s scars are not defeats but symbols of victory. She states, “Only God can make brokenness beautiful,” emphasizing that strength is found in surrendering one’s pain.

Each track on “Beautifully Broken, Victoriously Healed” blends personal testimony with an inspiring message, mixing the heart of hymns with contemporary Christian music. This combination makes the album appealing and accessible to a wide audience without losing its depth.

Nicole Denae also connects with her audience through social media, particularly on Instagram (@nicole.denae), where she shares personal stories, song inspirations, and engages directly with fans. This enriches the listening experience by providing context and insight into her creative and spiritual journey.

The album aims to create a community bonded by shared experiences of brokenness and healing, pointing them to Christ. It goes beyond just being music; it’s a movement that embraces imperfections as part of God’s grace.

Nicole Denae hopes her album will offer comfort and remind listeners that their scars tell stories of both pain and healing, making them “beautifully broken.” In a time when music often masks genuine emotion, “Beautifully Broken, Victoriously Healed” challenges listeners to confront and find beauty in their vulnerabilities, affirming that there is victory in surrendering to God’s craftsmanship.

Ultimately, this album is a journey through life’s highs and lows, offering hope and solace to those in turmoil. Nicole Denae invites listeners to find hope within brokenness and emerge “victoriously healed” by embracing their stories as beautifully imperfect yet divinely orchestrated masterpieces.
