How East Atlanta Montana Overcame His Troubles to Become a Rising Artist in the Music Industry

Growing up with a single parent, especially a father, can make children wonder what it is like to have a male role model. For sons, it leaves a hole that they feel they have to prime over. With no one to look up to, Demonta Stephens had to go through more than most people do in their lives. However, he overcame many obstacles and is well on his way to cementing his name in the music industry as East Atlanta Montana.

Demonta Stephens hails from an area in Atlanta, Georgia, known as Zone 6. The area was known to be tough, and Montana’s mother did the best she could to raise her four children alone, even moving to better areas so they would be able to avoid trouble. Despite her efforts, Montana would still find himself slipping.

Throughout his teenage years, he would go in and out of detention centers. Montana would also experience house arrest. Around that time, he would use his mother’s laptop and record music, finding his escape. Although he found solace in music, Montana would continue to get into trouble. Eventually, he decided to join a military program. Within six months, he would receive his GED.

By the time Montana returned, he had formed a group called Gwalla Boyz. It did not take long before the group created a buzz throughout Atlanta. They were offered management and label situations, but they could not come to an agreement with a large number of members. The Gwalla Boyz eventually split. However, the CEO, who was Montana’s brother and manager, kept the name and partnered with him to become a promotion team.

East Atlanta Montana and his brother would throw parties in Atlanta, growing their reputation. Along the way, they would make connections with artists. Montana would use the connections to perform and eventually made his way into the music industry.

Since then, he has been working to create music. With the help of Coca Vango and Lil Quill, Montana was able to release his first single as an artist for Jugg Rich. The track proved successful, and he promptly returned to the studio, working for his high school friend & producer, ArmaunDidIt. Collaborating with Lil Quill, Montana released another single called ‘I’m Guwop,’ which brought him even more attention.

Following the single, East Atlanta Montana started to gain more recognition. He started getting booked and paid for shows. Even more impressive is that artists from different states and countries reached out to him for features. Montana continued to drop more music, amassing a global fanbase.

As an artist, Montana is known to be very energetic. He transmits his spirit through his music, infecting listeners and pumping them up. Because of his lifestyle, East Atlanta Montana enters the studio and goes off with his emotions, exhibiting a versatile sound each time he takes the mic.

Today, East Atlanta Montana is enjoying the success he worked hard for. He hopes that his music will spark inspiration for his listeners, especially children in familial situations like he was. “I want people to look at me and know anything is possible,” he shared. Montana foresees a successful career in the music industry. Eventually, he wants to start a family business and dedicate it to his grandmother, who passed away from cancer. Additionally, he hopes to get into real estate when he is not busy touring with a label and mentoring artists.

Jashon: Military Serviceman Out to Build a Legacy in Music

Darius Everett, aka Jashon, is a man of action. He currently serves the nation as a military man and is presently stationed at Fort Hood, Texas. Yet, as grateful as the artist is is for the opportunity to serve and protect his country, this path isn’t a permanent one. As a rising artist on Spotify and other digital channels with a talent that’s unlike most, he hopes to redirect his journey into music, preferably soon. And with his current trajectory to music influence, it seems his wishes aren’t too far away from reality.

Darius “Jashon” Everett is an up-and-coming artist from Maryland, Virginia. Many music executives and publications have dubbed him the next big thing to come out of the DMV area. For as long as he remembers, music has always been in Jashon’s heart and blood. But earlier decisions would lead him down another path.

“The military wasn’t the first thing that came to my mind to do with my life, but it was necessary for the decision to be made,” shares Jashon. “But even while being in the position I’m in, while serving, I have still made time to hone my craft.” Darius Everett spent most of his childhood under the influence of military service. He’s a military brat and thus moved from place to place for the more significant part of his formative years. Darius has lived in various places at various times, including living abroad in Germany for a season. He’s also moved around states, splitting time between Georgia, California, and Maryland.

Through his travels and exposure to all kinds of cultures, Darius would widen his horizon and perspective. His art and craft would further develop as he experienced more out of life. The music aficionado would start writing original music, which took on a unique and highly appealing form through the years. Today, his talent for performing and crafting songs is unquestionable, with multiple successful tracks in his belt to prove his point.

Jashon has recorded, produced, and released several hit tracks, including songs like “Make Believe,” “Emergency,” “Mind Games,” “Fiji Water,” “Licc,” “Designer Things,” “She Know,” “Nasty Girl,” and several others. His eleven-track record “Apply Pressure” has made rounds all over the internet since its debut back in 2020. Jashon also has an array of singles, which have reached thousands to this day.

Jashon currently works under the label Audio Genesis Music, which also handles his production, engineering, and management. All of these the artist does while faithfully serving in his duties to his country. “Juggling these two lifestyles at the same time is not easy,” the artist openly admits. “But I try to make it work.”

What motivates the artist most is his passion for music and success. The artist out of the DMV is more than dedicated to becoming the best at his craft and providing his listeners and fans with more high-value songs in the next couple of years. With all that Darius Everett has offered to the world in such a short amount of time, he’s proven that he deserves a spot in top-tier hip hop artists from the East Coast. And with more to offer and a lifetime ahead of him, he’s bound to reach even greater levels of greatness.

Jashon hopes to one day pursue music full-time. Learn more about the artist and his art by visiting his Spotify and Instagram accounts.
