Since its founding, Stryker Records has grown to be one of the top labels housing chart-topping artists in the Hip-hop, Rock, and Country music genres. With the owner and founder Chris Dobry at the helm, this success can only be expected to grow bigger.
Stryker Records began when a 14-year old Chris Dobry got his first bass guitar. “From that point forward, I was hooked on live music,” he shares. Chris eventually got to play a few shows with his friends and participated in his high school’s annual battle of the bands. This competition would lead to bigger ideas for live music. Years later, in a conversation with a friend, Chris Dobry’s record label would begin growing roots in his mind.
He started the label in 1997 without a dime to his name. The concept then was to put on a battle of the bands in his hometown of Green Bay, Wisconsin. Through hard work and persistence, Chris Dobry managed to score an interview with the local CBS station. The interview drew a lot of attention and, soon, funds came pouring in to launch Chris’s label and help him showcase local talent, which he eventually worked with.
Now, nearly 23 years later, Stryker Records is at the top of its game and only keeps getting better. The music label sets an example with its exceptional reputation and management of its artists. “Our signed artists record in world class studios such as Universal studios in Nashville and Sunshine Studios in Colorado Springs,” Chris reveals.
With his label, Chris Dobry has promoted artists, including Saving Abel, Saliva, and Rick Monroe, among others. The label owner has also teamed up with Holly Hutchison of ANRGirl to launch his artists, Jamie Fontaine & the Level, on the Billboard Mainstream Rock Indicator Chart and the Concrete/Foundations Chart.
The music group’s single, Save Your Life, competed with A-list artists and emerged victorious in the struggle to stay relevant. At present, Chris and Jaime Fontaine & the Level are working on the next chart-topping release that will line the artists’ album cover with gold.
While working on his artists’ music, Chris Dobry has also kept busy preparing live music events and promoting it under Stryker Records. Hiring only the best, Chris only has gold and platinum recording artists headlining all his events, including Stryker Records representatives.
One of the annually sold-out shows that Chris manages is the Hip Hop World Series. The series is an annual all live Hip Hop Music Showcase under Stryker Records and Mainstage Media. Along with performances from lauded artists, the showcase’s main appeal is a competition that features artists from all over the Midwest.
Through the show, Chris Dobry provides a platform for struggling and aspiring artists to share their talent with the world. After the competition, prizes are awarded to the top three artists chosen by a panel of three recognized judges, and the crowd’s enthusiastic responses.
These winners will not only be given a chance to establish themselves in the industry but also a stage to attract the attention of investors and record labels, such as Stryker Records. As the latter is famous for only striking gold with its artists, being signed by the music label guarantees a bright future in the industry, and fans worldwide are always excited to see who Chris Dobry welcomes next to the Stryker family records.
