Upcoming Artist SCY Releases Single “The Sky Is Falling” Capturing the Emptiness of a Busy Life

As the philosopher, Socrates said, “Beware the barrenness of a busy life.” Aiming to shed light on the matter, SCY, pronounced as “sky,” released a new single entitled The Sky is Falling.  He is currently working on an upcoming album this track will be included on. Amid the abundance of party music, the artist wants to produce songs that would tell listeners about the hard truths of life.

The Sky Is Falling is about a man who appears to have everything one can dream of in life, materially and financially. But SCY shares how lonely being on top can be as the protagonist in the song realizes that there’s still something missing. Eventually, the man meets an incredibly mysterious woman who instantaneously fills the missing gap.

The Sky Is Falling is for music lovers who can relate to the struggle of having to sacrifice one aspect of life to achieve success. SCY creates music that intends to bring substance back into the scene, not just catchy tunes and repetitive lyrics. The artist understands that his songs may challenge the norm, one way or another, but he amplifies that there’s beauty in the uncomfortable. After all, expressing oneself differently than what is implied by the status quo is normal. “Sometimes it’s a good thing to be utterly different from everyone else and what they are doing,” said the artist.

Besides songwriting, SCY is also a talented sound engineer, singer, and producer at Real Life Music. The record label embraces the creativity and uniqueness of every artist, paving the way for upcoming talent to have the opportunity to share their voice. “Real Life Music started off as an idea in the mid 90’s as one particular individual wandered the streets of Crenshaw and many other parts of Los Angeles. Crime, corruption, and danger lurked around every corner it seemed,” said the artist.

Furthermore, SCY shared how most artists seem to glorify such issues as a mere result of another underlying problem. “Real Life Music was formed to help bridge the gap,” said the artist. Today, the record label provides opportunities for artists who are not afraid of taking risks in telling the truth as genuinely as possible. The artist aims for his brand to speak of his pains, joys, loves, sadness, and philosophy, while simultaneously giving other artists the same freedom.

For SCY, music is compelling. “It’s not just a simple matter of pushing a few buttons on a computer,” said the artist. “Music has the power to heal. Take you back in time to the greatest times of your life; walk you down the dark path of the pain that comes with life as well. It can also take you right into the future, brighten or darken your spirit,” he added.

SCY built his brand to bring back originality into the industry as he realized that it is often overlooked. Before pursuing a music career, the artist formerly worked for a bank and noticed how the more risks original business ideas have, the financial institutions tend to deny them the support they need. SCY realized that the same goes for the music industry as artists who go against the grain are often pushed aside. “I feel I have the abilities, so why not do something about it? Do my part instead of complaining about it. So I decided to get out there,” said the artist.

SCY is originally from New Orleans, Louisiana, but he grew up in the busy streets of Los Angeles, California. Learn more about the artist on his website.
