Robert J. Smith Productions to Film Smith’s Series of Lectures on Robert B. Cialdini’s Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion

By Ron Redd

Robert J. Smith, MBA, Ph.D. of Robert J. Smith Productions, has partnered with Robert B. Cialdini, Ph.D., widely known as “The Godfather of Influence,” as a Founding Member of The Cialdini Institute. Together, they aim to bring Dr. Cialdini’s timeless classic, Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion, to life through a lecture series of short films. These films will not only explain the principles outlined in this seminal classic, but they also provide actionable plans that businesses and professionals can implement to achieve maximum results.

With a proven track record of success, Smith has already implemented Cialdini’s 7 Principles of Influence and Persuasion to rank number one in worldwide production at renowned financial institutions such as Mutual of New York (MONY), AXA Financial, and The Equitable. The combined workforce of these companies exceeds 220,000 financial advisors and support personnel, a testament to the effectiveness of Smith’s strategies.

Moreover, Smith has set records at John Hancock that have stood for over 30 years, solidifying his expertise in the field. After forming Smith Profits, a Robert J. Smith Productions company, he has been instrumental in helping various businesses and professionals achieve similar results by combining Dr. Cialdini’s research on influence with his own proprietary action plans for each of the seven proven principles.

Smith’s dedication to understanding and applying Cialdini’s work goes beyond theory. He has already filmed a presentation on Authority at the Angeline Academy of Innovation and has scheduled talks throughout the State of Florida on Cialdini’s six additional time-tested Principles of Ethical Influence and Persuasion. These principles include Reciprocity, Liking, Scarcity, Consistency, Social Proof, and Unity. Additional locations for these talks include esteemed venues such as Stoneybrooke West Golf Club, Dubsdread Golf Club, Orange County National Golf Club, and Orlando Health Winter Garden Hospital.

One of the key strategies Smith has developed based on Cialdini’s principles is centered around the concept of Authority. By placing news releases about his clients in mass media outlets, Smith guarantees their stories are featured on major networks such as ABC, CBS, CW, FOX, NBC, and WGN, among others. This approach has proven highly effective in establishing credibility and influencing consumer behavior. A survey conducted in 2023 across all of Smith’s financial advisory firms revealed a remarkable increase in closing ratios. Prior to implementing Smith’s affordable media strategy, the aggregate closing ratio was 51%. However, immediately after its implementation, the combined closing rate skyrocketed to 77%, representing a remarkable 51% increase in sales across the board. This is just one example of the many action strategies that Smith has developed based on Cialdini’s principles.

Cialdini’s influence extends beyond the business world and has reached a global audience in both the arts and business sectors. Matthew Taylor, from The Royal Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce in London, England, commends Cialdini’s work, stating, “Not only was his lecture and the subsequent discussion fascinating, but for weeks afterward, I heard people here and elsewhere referring to his insights and examples. My sense is also that Robert’s work is being taken very seriously in Government, so I hope that his research will come in time to be more fully reflected in public policy.”

Exploring a Universe of Emotions with Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3

Image commercially licensed from: Unsplash

With their offbeat humor, heartwarming camaraderie, and penchant for saving the universe to the tune of an infectious ’70s and ’80s soundtrack, the Guardians have carved out a distinctive space in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). As we gear up for the third installment, get ready for an emotional joyride that will have you laughing, crying, and, quite possibly, dancing in the aisles.

Emotional Sucker Punches: Rocket’s Traumatic Backstory

The lovable and sarcastic Rocket, voiced by Bradley Cooper, has always been a fan favorite, but in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3, we are given a deeper understanding of his character. Rocket’s backstory is explored as we learn about his traumatic past as a subject of the High Evolutionary’s (Chukwudi Iwuji) twisted experiments.

This mad scientist believes that perfection can be achieved through macabre animal testing, and Rocket’s escape from his clutches came at the cost of being separated from his soulmate, Lylla (Linda Cardellini).

Lylla, a pure-hearted otter with prosthetic metal arms, represents a sense of innocence and purity that has been lost in Rocket’s life. Their separation adds a layer of emotional weight to Rocket’s character, as he seeks to find a way back to her while also fighting the High Evolutionary’s attempts to recapture him. This emotional arc provides a strong foundation for the film’s narrative and allows audiences to connect with Rocket on a deeper level.

The High Evolutionary—A Complex Villain:

The introduction of the High Evolutionary adds a new layer of complexity to the film’s emotional landscape. His God complex and twisted beliefs about creating a perfect society through animal experimentation make him a formidable antagonist. His relentless pursuit of Rocket demonstrates his obsession with control and perfection, while also highlighting the dark side of scientific experimentation and the potential ethical dilemmas that can arise from such pursuits.

Dark Themes—Eugenics and Vivisection:

The High Evolutionary’s goals and methods touch on some unexpectedly dark and controversial themes, such as eugenics and vivisection. Eugenics, the belief in improving the genetic quality of the human population, has a dark history of being used to justify discrimination, forced sterilization, and even genocide. The High Evolutionary’s pursuit of a perfect society through genetic manipulation and experimentation mirrors this disturbing ideology.

Vivisection, the practice of performing operations on live animals for experimental purposes, is another dark theme touched upon in the film. The High Evolutionary’s experiments on animals, including Rocket, are cruel and inhumane, highlighting humanity’s capacity for unimaginable cruelty towards other species.

A Bond of Loyalty and Friendship:

Despite the heavy themes explored in the film, there is a celebration of loyalty and friendship at its core. Rocket’s bond with his fellow Guardians serves as a powerful counterpoint to the High Evolutionary’s cold, detached pursuit of perfection. Their unwavering support and love for one another demonstrate that true strength lies not in physical perfection or power, but in the connections we forge with others.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 3 is a fitting conclusion to the beloved series, providing the audience with a rollercoaster of emotions and thought-provoking themes.  As we bid farewell to the Guardians, we can only hope that their adventures will continue to inspire us to be better and kinder towards others, both human and non-human alike.

By using Barbie as a lens through which to examine these issues, the movie has the opportunity to spark important conversations and promote positive change.

A Visual Treat

With the talented cinematographer Rodrigo Prieto behind the camera, audiences can anticipate a visually stunning movie that will take them on a journey into the world of Barbie.

Potential for Merchandise

Barbie has always been associated with merchandise, from dolls and clothing to accessories and playsets. With the upcoming movie, there is potential for a whole new line of merchandise to be created.

From costumes and toys to collectibles, the merchandise possibilities are endless. This could be a great opportunity for fans to further engage with the movie and for the movie to have a lasting impact beyond the theater.

A New Era for Barbie

For years, Barbie has been criticized for promoting unrealistic beauty standards and perpetuating harmful stereotypes. However, Gerwig’s movie promises to be a new era for the character.

By exploring the complexities of femininity and tackling important issues, the movie has the potential to redefine what Barbie represents. It could be a chance for the character to finally shed her outdated image and become a symbol of empowerment and progress.

Conclusion

There is a lot of anticipation surrounding the upcoming Greta Gerwig-directed Barbie movie since it has the ability to examine significant social themes while offering a fresh take on the iconic doll.

With Gerwig’s directing talent, an impressive all-star cast, and the promise of tackling complicated issues of femininity, gender identity, and body image, the movie has the potential to become a cultural landmark.

It’s exciting to see how the iconic Barbie will be reimagined and what message the movie will convey to audiences.

“Cocaine Bear” Movie Generates Buzz Ahead of Release, Fans Clamor for Potential Sequel

The release of Cocaine Bear is just around the corner, and the film has already generated quite a buzz. Inspired by a true story, the film follows a wild bear who consumes a large quantity of cocaine, causing chaos and mayhem for the people around it.

With an all-star cast and a fascinating premise, it’s no surprise that fans are already clamoring for a sequel.

Enter Cocaine Shark, a potential follow-up that has social media users buzzing. The idea for the film came after New Zealand authorities announced the interception of 3.2 tonnes of cocaine in the Pacific Ocean, leading many to wonder what would happen if a shark were to ingest a similar amount of the drug.

Filmmaker Elizabeth Banks has confirmed that she would be interested directing Cocaine Shark, but only if the script meets two conditions. The first condition is that the story must be based on a true event, much like the original Cocaine Bear. The second condition is that the film must be socially responsible, portraying the consequences of drug use in a realistic and informative way.

“I’ve seen that. If there’s a great story, then sure,” Banks said in an interview with PEOPLE. “Jaws with cocaine? I don’t see how that loses.”

Banks’ insistence on a socially responsible script is a welcome one. While the idea of a coked-out animal may be entertaining, it’s important not to trivialize the dangers of drug use.

In real life, drug addiction can have devastating consequences for both individuals and communities. By portraying these consequences in a responsible way, Cocaine Shark could serve as an important reminder of the dangers of drug use.

Cocaine Shark After Cocaine Bear

Of course, it’s still to be seen whether Cocaine Shark will actually come to fruition. Making a movie is a complicated and expensive process, and there are many factors that could prevent the project from moving forward. However, the fact that Banks is open to the idea is a promising sign, and it’s clear that the concept has struck a chord with many people.

Banks stated in a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly that she would “seriously consider” directing Cocaine Shark if the script was as good as the one for Cocaine Bear. She added that the project must have “just some great elements” to make it worth pursuing.

Banks also addressed concerns that Cocaine Shark would be too similar to Steven Spielberg’s Jaws, stating that she would want the project to be “differentiated enough” to avoid comparisons. She acknowledged that Jaws is a classic film that she would not want to be compared to.

Cocaine Bear chronicles a wild bear that ingests a large quantity of cocaine and wreaks havoc on the people around it. The film features a star-studded cast, including O’Shea Jackson Jr., Jesse Tyler Ferguson, Keri Russell, Margo Martindale, Alden Ehrenreich, and the late Ray Liotta.

More Details

Cocaine Shark was proposed after New Zealand authorities intercepted 3.2 tonnes of cocaine in the Pacific Ocean. The concept of a coked-out shark has generated significant buzz on social media, and fans are eager to see if Banks will take on the project.

During the interview, Banks also mentioned that it was the script for Cocaine Bear that initially caught her attention.

“As an actor, I love reading great character journeys and this was chock-full of really fun characters woven together really beautifully by Jimmy Warden’s script,” she stated. “I really felt like there was so much that was very grounded and real but then set against the backdrop of a bear on a bender.”

Cocaine Bear is set to be released on February 24th in theaters.

Winnie-the-Pooh and Piglet as Homicidal Monsters in ‘Blood and Honey’

Image commercially licensed from: Unsplash

A beloved character by author A.A. Milne and illustrator E.H. Shepard, Winnie the Pooh has been a childhood staple for generations.

Pooh has won the hearts of countless kids and adults alike thanks to his fondness for honey and his adventures with his friends.

But filmmaker Rhys Frake-Waterfield has put a twist on the classic character in his latest horror film Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey

In this dark and terrifying world, Pooh and his friend Piglet have become murderous monsters terrorizing the inhabitants of the Hundred Acre Wood.

It seemed logical to Frake-Waterfield to consider turning the adored character into a monster.

“I remember getting played a lot of the cartoons and stuff when I was younger. He’s appeared throughout my life,” he says. “I always thought it would be interesting to see how a classic character like Winnie-the-Pooh would be transformed in a horror movie setting.”

Praised for its innovative storytelling and suspenseful atmosphere, the film was a hit with horror fans.

Despite its dark and frightening elements, Frake-Waterfield said the film still pays homage to the original story and characters, adding a new dimension to the classic story.

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey is not recommended for those who are easily scared, but it is a must-watch for horror movie fans. The movie is proof of Frake-Waterfield’s inventiveness and enthusiasm for filmmaking, and it will undoubtedly become a cult favorite in the future.

Budget is Small but Success is Big

With a meager budget and lack of big-name stars, many were skeptical of its success, but the film proved them wrong. As the demand for movies grows, news is pouring in from all over the world.

The movie has already been a hit in Mexico, cracking the top five at the box office. This success is even more remarkable when considering Frake-Waterfield’s background.

Before entering the film industry, he worked in corporate strategy for an energy company and spent eight to nine years working on making the economic case for nuclear power stations. But, he felt a need to do something different and pursue his passion for filmmaking.

“I worked in corporate strategy for an energy company,” he stated.

“I used to work on making the economic case for nuclear power stations. I did it eight or nine years. I made the decision that I wanted to do something different and try going into this industry, because I was having a lot of good ideas.”

And, it has taken him far. The film’s placement at number two on IMDb’s list of 2023’s most-anticipated films, ahead of big-budget productions like Killers of the Flower Moon, Oppenheimer, and The Little Mermaid, is a testament to the director’s talent and the film’s appeal.

On February 15, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey will be released in nearly 1500 theaters, and it is sure to be a hit. With its unique concept and impressive buzz, this film is one to watch.

“It’s been getting this demand from all these other territories,” says the director. “I’ve been getting messages from China, Russia, everywhere, asking for it.”

The success of Frake-Waterfield and Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey serves as a reminder that sometimes, it’s the underdogs that can surprise us the most.

Winnie-the-Pooh

Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey is a dark, suspenseful thriller that chronicles the darker side of the beloved characters from the classic Winnie-the-Pooh stories.

This film offers a fresh and modern take on the classic tales, offering a unique and captivating story that is sure to keep audiences on the edge of their seats.

The film’s concept is a departure from the lighthearted and whimsical nature of the original Winnie-the-Pooh stories.

Instead of focusing on the adventures of Pooh, Piglet, Tigger, and their friends, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey delves into the darker and more mysterious aspects of the Hundred Acre Wood.

The film promises to offer a suspenseful and thrilling story that will keep audiences engaged from start to finish.

One of the key differences between Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey and the original Winnie-the-Pooh stories is its tone.

The original tales were lighthearted and designed for children, while Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey is a mature and sophisticated film that is designed for a wider audience.

The film’s suspenseful and thrilling nature sets it apart from the original Winnie-the-Pooh stories and promises to offer audiences a unique and captivating experience.

Another difference is the style of storytelling. While the original Winnie-the-Pooh stories were told in a simple and straightforward manner, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey promises to offer a more complex and layered narrative that will keep audiences guessing and engaged throughout the film.

In conclusion, Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey offers a fresh and modern take on the classic Winnie-the-Pooh stories.

Its unique concept, suspenseful and thrilling nature, and sophisticated style of storytelling sets it apart from the original tales and promises to offer audiences a captivating and unforgettable experience.

Fans of beloved characters Elsa, Buzz Lightyear and Judy Hopps can rest easy knowing they haven’t seen the last of them. Disney CEO Bob Iger confirmed that the studio is currently developing new sequels for the Frozen, Toy Story and Zootopia franchises.

This move by Disney is not unexpected, as all three franchises have proven to be huge commercial and cultural hits.

With the original film’s over $1 billion worldwide box office haul, a sequel that also set records, a hit Broadway musical, and a ton of merchandise and theme park attractions, the Frozen franchise has become a cultural phenomenon.

Meanwhile, Toy Story has been an integral part of the Disney/Pixar brand for decades, with sequels like Toy Story 3 and 4 each grossing over $1 billion in theaters.

Although Zootopia has yet to receive a sequel, the first film was a huge hit, grossing $1.025 billion worldwide and inspired a Disney+ spin-off series. This just shows the timeless charm and popularity of these beloved characters.

Disney made a wise choice to keep these franchises going because audiences have shown a lot of affection and love for these characters and their stories.

The company’s commitment to these franchises is a testament to its ability to create timeless and enduring stories that capture the hearts of audiences around the world.

Prime Movies

Disney has enjoyed great success with franchises such as Frozen, Toy Story, and Zootopia, but not all animation ventures have been successful.

The studio’s most recent release, Strange World, only earned $74 million at the global box office, a far cry from the billion-dollar success of other Disney films.

However, it’s worth noting that some of Disney’s original animated movies have performed better on streaming platforms than in theaters. Encanto is a prime example, earning $257 million at the box office before becoming a hit on Disney+.

This trend highlights the shift in consumer behavior towards streaming, and Disney’s ability to adapt and find success through different avenues.

The recent investor call with Disney CEO Bob Iger also revealed that the company will be cutting 7,000 jobs as part of its effort to find $5.5 billion in savings.

Despite this, Iger also announced plans to bring James Cameron’s Avatar to Disneyland in Anaheim, California. The new attraction, details of which have yet to be revealed, is expected to be similar to the popular Pandora attraction in Walt Disney World in Orlando.

Overall, while Disney’s recent original animated ventures may not have performed as well as its franchises, the company is still poised for success with its plans for new sequels for Frozen, Toy Story, and Zootopia, as well as its continued presence in the theme park and streaming space.

With a track record of adaptation and innovation, Disney is sure to remain a leader in the entertainment industry for years to come.

Fans can expect more information about these new sequels soon, but for now, they can rest assured knowing that the adventures of Elsa, Buzz Lightyear, and Judy Hopps are far from over.

Get ready to join them on new and exciting journeys, as we haven’t seen the last of these beloved characters just yet.

Disney’s decision to continue these franchises is a smart move, as audiences have shown a strong attachment and love for these characters and their stories.

The company’s commitment to these franchises is a testament to its ability to create timeless and enduring tales that have captured the hearts of audiences worldwide.

The decision to create sequels for these franchises is a smart business move, as it allows the company to leverage its most popular and beloved properties while also appealing to audiences’ nostalgia and attachment to these characters.

By doing so, Disney can not only guarantee commercial success, but also provide fans with new stories and adventures featuring their favorite characters.

In addition to the new sequels, Iger also announced plans to bring James Cameron’s Avatar to Disneyland in Anaheim, California. The details of the new attraction have yet to be revealed, but it is expected to be similar to the popular Pandora attraction in Walt Disney World in Orlando.

With the new sequels in the works, and continued presence in the theme park and streaming space, Disney is poised for continued success in the entertainment industry.

Fans have been anticipating DC’s new direction under Gunn and Safran for a while, and they can’t wait to see what the future holds for the DC Extended Universe (DCEU).

It’s reassuring to have a clear vision for the franchise now after years of hazy plans and mistakes.

Consequently, here are a few key conclusions from the announcement regarding Gunn and Safran’s vision for the DCEU:

What We Got

  • A focus on character-driven stories: Gunn and Safran have cleared to the viewers that they want to focus on telling compelling, character-driven stories that allow audiences to connect with the heroes in new and exciting ways.

This represents a positive shift from the earlier DCEU movies, which frequently put action and spectacle before character development.

  • A more interconnected universe: The interconnected storytelling of the Marvel Cinematic Universe has contributed to its success, and it appears that Gunn and Safran want to apply the same level of interconnectivity to the DCEU.

However, it also raises concerns about how they’ll handle the multiple iterations of characters from the Arrowverse and other DC shows. This could result in some exciting crossovers and shared universe events.

  • A focus on lesser-known characters: Gunn and Safran have expressed a desire to bring lesser-known characters from the DC Comics canon to the forefront.

This is a great opportunity for fans to see new and exciting stories and for the DCEU to expand its scope beyond the usual suspects like Batman and Superman.

  • A multi-platform approach: With the success of the Arrowverse on The CW and the upcoming release of Zack Snyder’s Justice League, it’s clear that DC is embracing a multi-platform approach to storytelling.

This gives fans more opportunities to experience the DCEU and opens up new possibilities for crossovers and shared universe events.

The announcement of Gunn and Safran’s plans for the DCEU is a huge step in the right direction.

Their focus on character-driven stories, interconnectivity, and lesser-known characters, combined with a multi-platform approach, gives fans plenty of reasons to be thrilled about the future of the franchise.

More Interesting Characters

The DC trinity of Batman, Superman, and Wonder Woman has long been the cornerstone of the franchise, and it’s exciting to see that they will all be represented in some form in the future of the DCEU.

The new Superman movie written by Gunn, the reimagining of Batman, and the Wonder Woman TV series are all sure to bring a fresh take on these iconic characters.

However, it’s not just the big three that are getting attention in DC’s plans. The studio is also exploring some lesser-known characters, which is a great opportunity for fans to see new and exciting stories.

Booster Gold, for example, is a fan-favorite who has a rich history in the DC Comics universe and will make for a compelling TV show.

Another off-the-beaten-path character that is getting a movie is Swamp Thing. The character has a rich history in the DC Comics universe and has been a fan-favorite for years.

The new movie will tap into the same era of dark and magical DC comics that have been so successful in other adaptations, such as The Sandman on Netflix.

DC’s plans for the future of the franchise are shaping up to be a well-rounded and exciting mix of old favorites and new discoveries.

The major DC trinity of Wonder Woman, Batman, and Supermanwill be represented in some form, but the studio is also exploring lesser-known characters like Booster Gold and Swamp Thing.

With such a diverse slate of projects in the works, there’s something for every type of DC fan to look forward to in the coming years.

Other DCEU Shows

As we bid farewell to some of the beloved DC superhero TV shows, it’s clear that a new era of the franchise is beginning.

The latest dismissals of Titans and Doom Patrol and the forthcoming series finale of The Flash mark the end of one chapter and the start of another.

Under the helming of James Gunn and Peter Safran, DC Films has a clear plan for the future of the franchise and it’s evident that they’ve learned from the successes and failures of the past.

The new era of DC superhero TV shows will be kicked off with Waller, a follow-up to Peacemaker and The Suicide Squad, which will be written by two of the most talented writers in the industry, Christal Henry and Jeremy Carver.

Creature Commandos will be an animated series that promises to be in the same vein as Harley Quinn, filled with humor and violence.

The planned Green Lantern show, which never made it to the CW’s Arrowverse, has been resurrected as The Lanterns, and Gunn has cited HBO’s True Detective as inspiration for the space-cop stories.

Another exciting new series is Paradise Lost, which will explore the Amazons of Themyscira. Inspired by Game of Thrones, the series promises to be a story of political struggle and female warriors.

This touchstone is more reminiscent of the latest Game of Thrones prequel House of the Dragon, which focuses on a civil war led by two powerful women.

The future of DC superhero TV shows is looking bright, with a mix of live-action and animated series in the works. With Gunn and Safran at the helm, it’s clear that they have a plan to create a new interconnected universe of DC heroes that will stand the test of time.

In addition to its domestic success, The Way of Water is also the fourth highest-grossing film in the world, behind James Cameron’s Avatar, Avengers: Endgame and Titanic. This year’s box office is up 53% from last year, largely due to the success of the Avatar franchise.

Fans of the franchise will have to wait a little longer for the next installment, as the third Avatar movie won’t come out until December 2024.

The Way of Water’s success, however, has shown that the public’s fascination with Pandora and the Na’vi will continue to be a major factor in the box office for years to come.
