Aza Torshkoeva, or stylistically written as AzA, is a concert pianist and a music educator whose musical talent knows no bounds. She was born on April 12, 1989, in a far north-eastern corner of Russia, Kamchatka, to a family that had music in their hearts. Her mother was a piano teacher and an in-home tutor. Aza has been involved with the piano since birth, and it’s clear to see that she has mastered her craft over the years.
In 1995, Aza Torshkoeva began elementary, music, and dance schools. Juggling all of it seemed pretty hectic for a young child, but she managed to do it all and perform with flying colors. In her second year of music school, she participated in her first-ever competition, where she won third place. A month later, she participated in an even bigger piano competition where she won first-place.
As a child, Aza Torshkoeva’s talents were always on full display. She won various competitions and always managed to reach the top three. In 2003, Aza entered Music College and competed in the International Piano Competition of Young Performers in Finland “Musical Performance and Pedagogies,” where she won the third prize and became an International Laureate.
With her many accomplishments, it’s clear to see that Aza Torshkoeva is a true piano virtuoso. Such talents and knowledge deserve to be shared with the younger generations of aspiring musicians, which is why she has also taken it upon herself to teach music, much like her mother before her. Aza is not confined to a particular style of music, and she is a multi-genre artist who can play anything from the likes of Bach to Metallica. As a celebrated musician, Aza Torshkoeva has won over 30 regional and international competitions throughout her entire career. She has performed the music of David Del Tredici in Manhattan, as well as concerts with the Florida Orchestra and Bradenton Symphonic Orchestra. She has performed as a soloist during a piano show of Miami Piano Grands at the New World Symphony Concert Hall. She has also performed alongside her duo partner, Jana Ceteleva, in Chicago.
Aside from her career in performing music, she also founded a brand-new music school for children and adults called the “Clavus Conservatory.” The school offers classroom classes and online classes to aspiring musicians out there.
